  • Since Easter Sunday, we’ve been gripped by ITV’s new thrilling drama - The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe. It’s the retelling of one Britain's most sensational scandals, when ‘Canoe Conman’ John Darwin faked his own death as part of an insurance scam with the help of his wife Anne. In tonight’s instalment, the lies begin to unravel as the now infamous photo, exposing the couple, is discovered by journalist David Leigh. David, who not only broke the story but wrote the book which inspired the drama - tells us about his involvement, and reveals his ongoing 15 year friendship with Anne.

He didn't sit in judgement on them at all. He was interviewing them - it was his job !

This really isn't the right video for that comment. I'm sure there are other videos dealing with the thing that you are obsessed with

In the 70's 80's and 90's most people could not be gay.
There was ENORMOUS pressure to get married and have children. I am not gay but I did too.
You had to fit in or you were disowned by your own family and friends. 😢😢😢

I just watched the clip and I noticed several images were blurred, likely to either conceal the identities of the people or due to copyright reasons. However, almost every time a blurred image appears, there are frames towards the end that are not blurred just before the shot cuts away. This is a significant oversight because if a viewer pauses the video at the right moment, they can see the image without the blurring applied. I work in this field myself, so I’m particularly shocked by this lapse in attention to detail.
