    Listened on my K&H O300 speakers and it is clear to me that the Stam has a slightly tighter bass as well, more controlled. The whole sound of the Stam is more controlled, in balance.

    The stam sounds a bit fatter and the audioscape sounds a lil thinner. I prefer the character of the stam in this case. Seems there is a thickness in the lower end in the stam that adds low end girth but the audioscape sounds very silky.

    I received my SA4000 MKIII last month after waiting 8 months. You can switch between the E series and G series style comps with the MKIII. I got the Fairchild MOD. I really love it. I was all in the box before this purchase and I feel it's an upgrade to the way I worked before (although, I still love the Softube Bus Processor). Changed my work flow a bit but, it's ok.

  • @thebrainrecordingstudios8976

    The difference in sound is similar to the Alan Smart C1 and C2. The C1 being fatter/darker and the C2 tighter and brighter.
    Both very useable.

    i thought both units sounded great, i added a 1.5 db boost to the SA files and they sounded almost identical. A lil push like you mentioned over the high end on the AS. What i did notice was that the SA did something to the 100 to 300 area that was cool, barely noticeable tho. like, made it super compact and more musical? wtf do i know lol I'd be happy with any!

    • @GeorgeLeverG1
      @GeorgeLeverG1  Před 4 lety +2

    Stam takes about one year to ship your order, audio scape takes less than 14 days typically.
    Stam will take your deposit and over promise delivery for at least six to eight months....fact.

    I think the difference between the two is that the Stam is giving more this "glue" effect, and I find it colors the signal in a very pleasant way compared to the Audioscape. Also, the great harmonic richness that it gives is really appreciated in this mostly-digital world 😎

  • @justinupchurch1773
    @justinupchurch1773 Před 4 lety +1

    i have products from both companies, they're both quality companies. If you live in the US, I'd highly recommend audioscape, because Chris is amazing. He will go above & beyond to make each and every person that orders from him happy with their purchase. Josh is also a great guy, but being in Chili, well, he's in Chili, enough said. It can take a while to get stuff from Stam, but I hear that that's improving. I need to order some more preamps from Stam now, can't get those from Audioscape.

    • @heythere6983
      @heythere6983 Před 4 lety

      What you have from audioscape? I fee their stuff is good but is a bit transparent and the stams tend to have a bit more saturation and added tone.
      I like the sound of the stam 76. But being in the us I’d prefer the shipping and quickness to get the audioscape products. I heard their v comp is great and la2a is good aswell. But from the videos Iv seen they seem a tiny bit too transparent for me idk if it’s the settings people use or what but I almost would like their products maybe slightly altered to add a lil extra harmonic distortion, even if that means it won’t be as exact of a replica , I like the idea of high quality with a lil extra thickness and tone .
      Unfortunately I have not heard great things with stam, but I feel their units have a nice character but I also won’t wait months or a year for anything

    Very weird Stam has an audio scape bus comp when he claims he makes a superior product w/ SA4000+ & mk2 w/ the recreated DBX 202 VCA. I just left this comment on another vid that my SA4000 mk1 wasn’t something that wowed me. Seemed to have more audible compression than the GR meter showed. Def was buil well except all the knobs were different lengths and tightness.
    Audioscape seemed to choke some of the low end like the original SA4000 did for me with rap music. Well tbh most SSL style bus combo can’t handle heavy 40Hz & under.
    I def hear the AS thinning the low end on the kick drum lows, the impact was off. Dam makes me wonder if I should just stay ITB. Or maybe fork up the $$$$ for the Dramastic Obsidian / Alan Smart / SSL GFX384..
    I would need a demo or rent one of the high end units to hear what it does in my studio on my Barefoot Sound. It would have to be magical for $3k -$4k USD
