28 years ago I back packed Zim. Spent 3/4 weeks hiking solo through the Chimanimani. Ended up at Nyanga along the Gairezi River. Found a fisherman's cabin next to a waterfall almost identical to that one you stayed in. Stayed there for a week. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Wonder if it's still there. Zimbabwe is truly a beautiful country.
We agree, it is such a stunning place!
Tessa's Pool!!😍☺️
Oooh yeah!! 🙌☺️
Your wife is tough as nails, she never complains one bit...thanks for showing our half decent zimbabwe to the world ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for this! I read your comment to Harry 🤣 means a lot!
We really enjoyed our time in Zim!
Have not heard piet my vrou (red chested cuckoo) for absolute ages. Enjoying your videos and nice to see you both getting used to the camera - ysses!!
Also like the stills in your episodes!
No we haven’t! Thanks so much, means a lot ☺️
Now this is a place I remember well. I did an outward bound course here in 1969 over a two week period. Tessa’s pool was located very close to our camp so we swam in the pool every day as well as completed many exercises dreamt up by the instructors such as raft building and team competitions. We did a three day hike up the top which was just too beautiful.
That’s amazing! We met some of the groups from Outward Bound while we were in the area. Thank you for your comment 🙌☺️
Hi I saw your car today while in a matatu in Kenya Nairobi CBD it looked interesting due to the number plate and bags so I marked the name and searched it online and found your channel keep up the good work
Haha no way! Our CZcams videos are a little behind ☺️
I bet the dip in the pool was welcome after that hike!👌
It was lovely!!
Epic scenery nice content jip Zim so beautiful take care
Thank you! Chimanimani is such a beautiful place 🙌
Awesome vid, brought back so many memories.
My sister and I were talking about our trip there a few months ago when I was in NZ visiting family.
We were there in 93.
Took the wrong path at the top of the escarpment and ended up camping in grass in Mozambique past Southern lakes.
My flip flops broke half way up the escarpment, no sleeping bag or tent.Only a pot, 1.5 kgs of raw steak , and some veges for a stew.Ran out of water.
The English couple we conned into coming with us to split the cost of a ride to the start of the hike were not happy.
She cried most of the night.
We had leopard calling out all around us.All I could think was they want me and my steak
We back tracked in the morning to the top of the escarpment. We saw guys carrying up 118kg bottles of gas for the cabin.
Got directions off them.
Back then the cabin had gas hot rings and flush toilets.
A hike never to be forgotten. Was nice to cook the steak
That is a crazy story!
I love that you are _really_ exploring the countries you've been to so far. I have plenty of Chimanimani memories, Tessa's pool in particular. I also recommend nearby Chirinda forest. Proper old growth forest with ancient trees and amazing hiking trails.
Thank you. That’s wonderful, we’ll have to check Chirinda out, thank you for the recommendation 🙌
I love chimanimani
So do we ☺️
Hi guys. Been watching this channel for years now, really enjoy the vibe and the adventures. This video is special the landscapes how it was shot are just spectacular. If you will permit me one comment I notice sometimes you drive with firewood on the bonnet, please be careful in case it comes through the windscreen one day in a collision or accident. Please understand where this is coming from.
Hope you guys enjoy the craic in Zimbabwe.
