Marie is such an amazing private investigator. She gave so much attention to every information and details.
Cos having a relationship with a convicted murderer was always going to end happily ever after. geez!
Well, I suppose it would really depend on what the type of murder conviction the person was convicted of, such as, was it 1st Degree Premeditated Murder, 2nd Degree Murder, Voluntary/Involuntary Manslaughter, etc. AND just as(if not more)importantly WHO the victim was. If that person killed someone trying to defend themself or someone they love, that wouldn’t be a bad thing or a cause to tuck tail and run.
People deserve redemption and we have to believe people can be rehabilitated…
But yeah maybe just don’t date men who kill hookers ..

Intentional murderers do not deserve "a second chance." See, not everything deserves a second chance.
Very few criminals deserve a second chance. Maybe a few non-violent ones.
Too many times in life, we are our own worst enemy.
Women need to not be so fast to hop into bed with a man right out and not try to fix the men they meet.
So true !!
If you've murdered someone once before, your more inclined to murder again, she was taking a huge risk by getting involved with him.
Exactly. I haven't finished watching this. But could a murder be the murder?
I thought it was idiotic and I thought it was outrageous for these inept cops to let this old woman (relatively speaking) go wandering off into the woods with a convicted psychopath, - while they "follow her" with a car (!) and lose her. She seems like a loose cannon herself. You don't climb into the cage with the lion.
I covered crime for 16 years of my life. And I can assure you that the chance of a killer to commit another homicide is high. From all the killers I interviewed, more than 80% of them killed again once released from jail and then, they confessed to me: "I may kill again". I left the Press in 2004. I saw too much and I witnessed enough. Nobody should ever do what this woman used to. You can only understand evil after living for many years inside it and I lived Hell from Sunday to Sunday and I know demons exist, in this world and in the invisible one. Never ever do what she did, it costed her life.
Yeah this sounds like a classic what did you think was going to happen? Why anyone would trust a murderer is beyond me.
A jailhouse snitch to boot! Sad...
Exactly and you know she thought he was a changed man and nothing like that would happen to her, ever.
@@pamelamorris3148 as far as I am concerned she should be nominated for the Darwin Award.
They want to trust because they're hopeful that they found the one murderer who won't reoffend.
_...sometimes_ people do change. But yeah, psychopaths don't, at least afaik.
Because she wanted to be the one to redeem him…
There is also an outrageous amount of women that search out prisoners to befriend and pursue for romantic relationships. Why? They think that they’ll be the one to save them. You can’t. They can save themselves if they want to. Meet a man outside of prison ladies.
This is why convicted murderers get the death sentence here in Malaysia. There's no chance of them murdering again.
This is the best true crime story I’ve heard in a while. You really felt the fear when she was out in the woods with him, and he stared at her. This was told very well. That detective should have her own podcast, I love her accent lol

If every investigator was as sharp, determined, and gifted as her, I bet murder and crime would go WAY down.
Sharp as a boulder, evidently
I think even she would admit she made some stupid mistakes.
Investigators do their job after the fact, how will that decrease crime? Think people, participation trophy society is dumb
Sometimes the source is not far away, the one who calls 911 or cries out about their missing someone is just the person who caused it. 🤔
You do realize that the Police are bound by guidelines that PI's aren't, the same goes for Bounty Hunters. If a BH sees the person they are chasing in a home for instance, they don't have to wait for a warrant, they an just kick in the door. All while the cops have to follow the guidelines before going in the home and that can take hours. The same goes for questioning folks, cops have to be real careful while PI's can ask or say whatever they want and if the "criminal" asks for an attorney, the PI doesn't have to stop questioning them. I really wish folks would learn that most of the time before cops can react, that's their job to react, they have to deal with all of the red tape. I'm not saying every cop does it the right way but those cops cases usually get tossed out of court because they skipped the process that actually hinders their job.
OMG! This story could have been HALF the length if they didnt repeat the story what seemed like 10 times over! Just tell the damn story!
Just explained this in another comment. When these shows originally aired, they had commercial breaks. After the break, the shows always do a small recap to bring those who have missed the previous parts up to speed. When you remove the commercials, there's just recaps.

I've always told my kids "If you ride like lightning. You're going to crash like Thunder"
Um, I think we know what the moral of the story is. Not only did she date/trust a convicted killer, but she then tried to fix him (loaning large sums of money, etc). Just one of those would have been bad enough. She was way too smart/talented to make such stupid choices. Women, stop settling for garbage. Learn to love yourself FIRST, which will obliterate the desperation, and eliminate the settling thing. Learn to love/appreciate/respect yourself so much that you could still greatly enjoy your life even without a partner. Only then will you more likely attract someone worth having as a partner. But you have to be good with not having one FIRST.
So well said
Literally ugh!
In the words of Kennie JD, “Get better investments.”
70% of women are desperate for love and will settle for any male, especially ones that are 'dangerous', 'exciting', the bad boy who gives them attention and tells them what they want to hear. Most women will believe anything simply because they are so desperate.
I believe she was being a martyr by 'rescuing' him.
Unfortunately, she wasn't smart enough to understand that a man who murdered a woman & has been locked up for a long time, won't tolerate her being friends with an ex partner.
She’s right. That kiss could’ve made or broke the case. If she didn’t kiss him, he may have never told her. If it is sexually motivated, the kiss could’ve triggered the reaction from him that they needed. I give her props for her intelligence and bravery
I'm sure they fxxxxd.
My mom once went out on date with a man. During the date he told her he had been in jail for some crime. My mom immediately tensed up. He noticed how frightened she became. That was all she needed to know. She didn't care that it was for theft because if you can take what does not belong to you what else are you capable of. The date didn't last long.
Smart mom. Criminals don t change.
There's a pretty large gap.
@@BarrywHiteFTW what does that mean?

Funny, a person would never bring a killer dog into their home. Why would they ever bring a murderer into it??
Self esteem is imperative to healthy relationships and self-worth.
And this is precisely why every single rapist, child molester or murderer should never, EVER be released after being caught and convicted. Those are the kinds of people who will never "get better" or "be fixed". It's something that keeps repeating itself over and over again, and yet the "justice" systems all over the world fail to recognize it. Disgusting failure of the law.
Excellent program. Very impressed with Marie. The way she told her story had me on the edge of my seat. Desperate women are taken in by convicts because they get 100% of the con's time and attention. It's a scam, but they think that will continue when the con gets out of prison. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.
No love can change a damaged human being. Just leave them alone
Exactly. Some people are evil. RUN!!
The whole purpose behind love got redefined and *conveniently rearranged by most. As it was never meant to be used and abused to achieve unbearable outcomes as such. If ones genuine Love was able to change someone that's broken, they would find Love and honor it. Verses someone having to actively extend themselves over and over and over and over and over again........ just so it could be used, tormented and abused.

He hang a brother 7 yrs old ,over a smoky wood fire whom he stuffed inside a jute sack, my brawny teenage godbrother intervened . Philippines' child abuse laws is a travesty and a joke . What is wrong with these women ? Stockholm syndrome as an explanation, to me is OFFENSIVE. Before she married her husband she had a stern warning from my fave Aunt that he is a woman beater, trouble maker, womanizer, thief, has criminal tendencies , jobless, uneducated, gambler, drank , but she was totally smitten with her bad boy till the end.
Complained to me of all people that her husband would not have sex with her anymore. She was 75 yrs old . 3 yrs later she was dead. May I mention, she was a University graduate with Bachelor's degree.
YES , women obsessively in love with criminals and murderers EXIST. Unfathomable !
The naivety of people with criminals. Unbelievable.
She wasn't the first- sadly she won't be the last!
Apparently everyone can be reformed and has the right to a second chance without discrimination????? Aren’t we constantly be reminded of this with new early release laws, no bail, lighter sentences, perpetrators becoming the victims, name suppression etc. The world is becoming mere dangerous.
It's because they have been raised around cretinous men and a culture that covers for them in training girls to have no boundaries and train the fawn response towards traumatizing people. Don't be so smug, everyone has an Achilles heel hence the need for the myth to explain this human condition.
You have never known a charming psychopath or you wouldn't say that.
Making Feminist and intelligent woman mad how dare you.
How can you trust someone like that? I feel sorry for her. RIP
If Marie did the narration of audio books - specifically thrillers/horrors/mysteries, I’d buy all of them. She has a great way of story telling that makes me hang on her every word.
She is such a brave, intelligent, amazing woman!! I want to be just like her when I grow up. I’m already 36, though, so I’m running out of time. ☺️❤️❤️❤️
The reason Brett was a witness in that murder case was to help himself, not from any integrity on his part. Unfortunately, Louise was naive about criminals, and snitches.
No one told her that convicted murderers don’t make good companions? Huh. REALLY?!??
Natural selection, perhaps
@@bonjovirocks24 ..Bounce, troll.
She misjudged his intentions. When someone does something good at a personal cost it is seen as integrity. In his case, he did for personal gain not as a sacrifice.
She thought he was helping an innocent man which shows integrity but his intent was purely selfish not selfless (ie helping someone else).
He wasn't motivated by integrity. People who have integrity assume that everyone else does too, like them. People who have no integrity assume no one else has it too. People with wisdom see that people are not black or white according to their own worldview.
She married a murderer and a snitch, I’m questioning her judgement and sanity.
Exactly
Classic case of being so OpEn MiNdEd that your brain is falling out
She had no judgement, no common sense or anything between her ears!
Sadly true
And, why would a married woman be going to spend the weekend with her ex-boyfriend and his daughter ??
“Only other time I sweat like this is when I have sex” WHAT A SICK SOB !! Marie was so strong and brave to do what she did! I hope she knows how incredibly amazing she is for her work on getting justice for this woman!
Right before I was stabbed, my assailant said the SAME THING!! "ARENT YOU AFRAID"? and I said the same as Mina "SHOULD I BE?" Psychos really do follow patterns.
They should make this into movie. Marie is very brave.
She was smart, feminist...and starts dating a guy in prison. No one deserves what she got, but oh boy these people who have fascination for bad guys and girls. Just cant understand that shit
"feminist" in as far as kicking back women's rights and causes about 500 years. Modern feminism. Go figure. These are the same women who participate in shows like "married at first sight" or "90day fiancé". Soooo modern and so enlightened.
Feminism used to be a worthy cause, but within the last 10 to 15 years feminism became so extremely toxic, now it's all about hate towards men. Luckily there is some great women out there exposing the toxicity and hypocrisy of feminism. Feminism this day and age is almost like a bunch of women with serious mental issues and extreme hatred towards men hijacked the feminist movement. It's same thing with BLM when it started it was a worthy cause but somewhere down the line it became hijacked by Marxists and greedy people that only did it for the money and now the truth is coming out. They can't account where 60 million dollars in donations went and the government is now investigating the movement to find out what BLM did with the $60 million dollars in donations. It always surprises me that even after all this people are still willing to support BLM and are willing to donate to this toxic movement.
I like dangerous men 😔😔 idk why .. maybe my radar is skewed because I never had a good man around me growing up
@@AviationNut Third Wave Feminism. It started in the late 80’s, early 90’s. Based solely on ‘right fighting’, not fighting for rights. It’s not a worthy cause anymore because there simply is no reason for it anymore.
@@AviationNut BLM has always been Marxist based. The demand for racism has long surpassed the supply for it… it started in the 80’s too; it’s about being in charge and having control, not about fairness.
Uhm, yea, I’d never date anyone who outside of a speeding ticket broke the law in any way. It just tells you they are deceitful, conniving, untrustworthy people. Never, ever, let your guard down. I’m not saying what happened to this woman was her fault, but knowing this man’s background should’ve told her to stay away!!
Murder is another level of criminality altogether. But look at it this way, the government encourages & rewards murder in the military , including turning recruits against & murdering each other, while those in charge ignore it…And on another note, many young people commit crimes, and that’s the end of it because they grew up. Let’s not crucify people for Ridiculous reasons. And PLENTY of people turn their lives around after a criminal offense.
I'm in a relationship with a felon that I've known since 2013. Amazing father but shitty partner other than buying me the world.. I won't explain his convictions, he's never hurt or murdered any one but you're right- anyone that has more than a dang speeding ticket is trouble and everything you said above. I am a house mom / wife and don't know how to get out. I'm miserable. These people are shit..
He's also a family friend which is how we met. PARTNERS WITH MY DAD. Left him once before bc he cheated and my parents betrayed me and remained close with him..I am stuck. Idk what to do ...
Good grief. How can anyone be with a murderer? I’d be scared to death. Literally.
*Wuts with the StuPus AvaTar!!!!?????*
Them: She was very intelligent! Brilliant! Educated!
She: hmmm yea a murderer would make a wonderful partner!
Also her: here take my money!
i honestly thought the same thing. she mustn’t have been too smart & educated to even start a relationship with a known murderer 😕🤦🏽♀️
She was bookwise, not streetwise.
@@LynxStarAuto .. still her: but I will ask you to give them back ok?
Truly shows utter stupidity ...but i think they are saying that to make us the audience feel pity for her.. but literary she planned out her own murder
There was a sign and a signal....he was in jail and admitted to killing a women 17 years pior! If that doesn't give you a clue well.......
Now he’s guilty of killing twice. I really hope he’s never released again. If he is Canada has to wake up. If he hadn’t been released the first time this woman would not have been murdered
He died several months after being put in jail of hepatitis.
Many times a person get married saying he will change, wrong… you are usually the one who changes.
So sad! Sometimes people with a trusting heart don’t see the evil and you have to learn the hard way! When people show you who they are believe them.
Maya Angelou said believe them. Get away, and never return.
Please do not marry or shack, and never get pregnant.
It's a thing. Most killers have dozens of women wanting them.
He was a convicted murderer. She is just another typical woman ignoring all the nice guys and chose a fuckwit. She deserves no sympathy at all. She made her bed she can lay in it!!!
@@russellpragnell2087 💯
This is simply an example of why our heads are placed above our hearts.
She should have used her head for something other than a hat rack.
Imagine your girl leaves you fir a murderer in prison
That’s gotta sting a little
Naaah she will get whats coming for her...you just wait
Marie is awesome. She is a heroine. The way she was telling her story had me on the edge of my seat. My heart was literally pounding.
I know they say everyone deserves a second chance, but one has got to draw the line when it comes to having a relationship with a convicted killer ....May her soul rest in peace....
What an awesome private investigator she is! I’m sure when she was deep in the woods she was scared to death with that guy.
Ladies!! they are in jail for a reason don’t dance in the flames and not expect to get burned 🤷🏻♀️
People like him never change!
This should be a movie! You go girl!
Give $20,000 to a convicted murderer. Then ask him to return your money in 2 months… give me a break. Will you.
😂😂😂
Good observation.
Wish I could come up with 20 grand in 2 months!
She wasn't thinking straight. 😕
I have mad respect for that woman, damn she is truly brave.
What a brave PI, when I first looked at Brett I saw the deception between his eyes and his mouth, I just knew he killed her. Well done PI Lady, a remarkable story with a happy ending
Extremely weird that Louise was maintaining contacts with her ex to the extent of planning to spend a entire weekend with him while being in a committed relationship with another man. Who the hell does that? I am surprised this aspect was not touched upon in this docu-investigation.
Exactly my thoughts.
Why it's irrelevant to the case.
@@susanbrogan6610 Not really. The story seems implausible. No one expects to be able to go for a weekend with an ex, for a social reason, without the person they are currently committed to. So, the story, was likely concocted. Or her intentions enraged him, causing Brett to end her life. Either way, Brett still killed her.
