Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are about to give the greatest acting duo of 2024 and I'm all for it. This is the duo i never knew i needed the most 🙌
That final shot from the lipstick smile on the glass was just pure perfection… Whoever came up with that idea is genius. 😮💨🤌🏼

People that hate musicals always think its gunna be jazz hands and people tap dancing while looking at the camera. But musicals can be deeply F-cked up. Expressing pain, torment and anger are something musicals are capable of

Joker is personally my favorite film of all time. I’m beyond excited and can’t wait! The trailer looks so good and those glasses are 🔥

The final shot with the lipstick 💄 on the glass was creative. The umbrellas 🧡💙❤️💛 I love this teaser trailer.
Love it too....very much like the French musical "Umbrellas of Cherboug" which opened with the overhead shot of the colorful umbrellas and also stuck to it's color palette throughout the film
That shot on the roof with hotel arkham in background looked so cool.

I remember Todd Phillips with all of those hangover, due date era, never expected for that kind of director to come up with such movies, some of those shots in trailer look so different what we normally see in DC movies
That's because this is Elseworlds, genius.
It's gritty, realistic and grounded.
I have absolutely chills. I loved Joker so much. It's ability to make you root for someone that you know is going down a dark path just shook me. This is going to be bonkers and artsy and tense, and I'm so here for it.

With the first movie being Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy as inspiration, i'm assuming this sequel's inspiration from Scorsese movies are New York, New York and Shutter Island. A really surprisingly interesting combination

They were initially saying this was going to be a musical, but now they've backed up on that and just say it's going to feature some music.
I am definitely sold on this, Phoenix is going to crush it again, I love the idea joker is an actor and the world being hit the stage, I think gaga is going to be amazing, I think Margot Robbie tries her best but Harley Quinn should be really unhinged, very bubbly, really eccentric and perky, if Brittany Murphy was still alive, she would’ve been an excellent Harley Quinn
It will work because Harley and Joker have a symbiotic relationship. Sharing and swimming in each other's mental states. The musical element is the marrying of their madness. It will only lead to more cranage and chaos.
Got a feeling that this movie is actually about Harley and everything is in her mind instead of Arthur's.

When the news of a sequel first came out I was against it but as soon as we started hearing it’s a different direction and that it’s gonna be music-driven I got excited and I still am, this looks great.

Super hyped for the unique mix this seems to be bringing. I can’t wrap myself around the plot details & that’s great since trailer didn’t give much away yet effective. Phoenix & Gaga are going to be an impressive duo

Interesting. Joker & Harley romance movie. 🃏 October 4 or same day when Joker 2019 was released. We got the Penguin series coming this Fall too. This Joker looks interesting. Don’t really know what to expect. It seems part romance and part musical.
I’m there. This is a Day 1 for me. I never miss a live action movie related to Batman or Gotham going back to 1989. And yes, I did enjoy Joker 2019 and was happy when Joaquin won an Oscar for it. I always knew he had the talent since seeing him in 8MM and Gladiator. Joker ’19 is Todd’s love letter to Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy while getting De Niro for it!
Warner Bros. looks loaded this year. They still got Furiosa in May and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in September. Planning to see Godzilla x Kong a third time this week. What I really can’t wait for is The Batman Part II. Robert Pattinson hates Twilight but his favorite video game of all-time is the same as mines: Final Fantasy VII (1997). But I’m more a fan of Tifa and I especially love her more in Remake while he loves Aerith.
Cool trailer. Hope we see another trailer in 2-3 months to explain the story a little better. This teaser is a bit confusing on it’s premise. It’s like a romance story mixed with One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest but set in Arkham Asylum. That’s the vibes I’m getting from it. But I think they’ll nail their performances because Joaquin and Gaga can really act. Gaga was excellent in House of Gucci even if the movie wasn’t good.
June looks loaded. House of the Dragon S2 vs. The Boys S4 vs. The Acolyte. I’m watching all of them!! But I think WB wins again with House of the Dragon in the Year of the Dragon 🐉. I love The Boys but GRRM’s lore is far more interesting. I will watch The Acolyte based off curiosity but I’m not sure I’m interested in watching space lesbians. Frickin’ Disney. The Acolyte might bore people like they did with Echo.
The movie that could surprise me the most this year will be released this Thursday. I’m hearing great reviews for Civil War. I think the premise to it is interesting. I’m older than Kirsten Dunst by almost a year and a half but she already looked 10 years older than me from 10 years ago! Her real life husband portraying the Trump supporter / soldier is making me become a bigger fan for Jesse Plemons.
So far, Warner Bros. still has the best movie of 2024 in Dune: Part Two. They’re killing it. Then we got a Superman movie and a Batman movie for next year. F Disney. 😂 Well, except for Deadpool & Wolverine this July.

I wasn’t really the biggest fan of the first Joker, I thought Phoenix was great and it was beautifully shot, but story wise pretty shallow. This one, from the trailer, at best I’m intrigued but not overly hyped. But since it’s called Folie á Deux and it’s a jukebox musical, I can’t wait for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga covering Fall Out Boy songs…

It’s got music the characters interact with. But it’s not like Grease or The Sound of Music. Think more like Guardians of the Galaxy (as in its use of music).
