I got the biggest smile on my face when Newt came frantically sliding into the room, such a perfect way for her to enter the story. It’s so cathartic to hear Newt and Hicks continue the story.
Laughed out loud at the part where the colonel says he wouldn’t die in a blaze of combat glory or in his sleep but rather in a bureaucratic meeting face planting onto the table.

Agreed. Its not too bad considering what it is and I'd rather listen to it like this than not at all. But id LOVE to hear a professional read this with the use of voices and such. Would be awesome! But still glad its on youtube

It's generally good, but if the meaning of the sentence requires modification of prosody, it's hopeless. It also gets thrown by multiple adjectives separated by a comma. For example, "he entered a dark, dank forest." becomes "He entered a _dark._ Dank forest!"
As i listen i imagine this as a movie.
I'm only about an hour into the story, but it's clear this should have been the movie instead of the crap we got. Thanks for uploading

@TimeBomb014X why because of a false trailer? Yes, they're the reason game companies have to put "not actual game footage" in the trailers now. But the game wasn't that bad. All games have glitches and esp back then wonky a.i. but the game perfectly captured that missing gap between aliens and alien 3. I didnt enjoy the multiplayer in it, that was awful. But the story was top notch. Only 360 game I still own and I don't even have a 360 anymore.

@TimeBomb014X the graphics never bothered me. But I'm old school and I still love legend of zelda link to the past lol. The ai did go super wonky but I guess it never got to me...at least not enough to detract from the story. If you look at the more recent aliens fireteam elite, the ai for the aliens is still embarrassing at times. Imo that game had and still has many more flaws than colonial marines. But it looks great!
This is actually really good comma apart from the AI mistakes dash it definitely deserves a better reading to be recorded period!

Loved Bishop's summing up and Hick's revelation about humans Vs Aliens
It is a crime against the sensibilities of every sci-fi horror fan that this was passed by. I was surprised by something, but it is interesting enough that it constitutes a spoiler. I would not want to diminish any fans enjoyment, this is rare stuff and it deserves some reverence.
Why was this better than that train wreck of a movie ???
Because the movie was a frigging joke of mismanagement, bad writing, and coked out office execs pushing the "It would look cool and damn the plot" mentality.
Alien 3 is great the way it is, warts and all. People don't like it because it killed the hope of Aliens and took it back to nihilistic, the way it should be. But it's cool to hear a different version.
I spent years defending Alien 3, like I was a diehard fan, it was a misunderstood gem, etc. I even wrote an essay for college defending it. Around last year I sat to watch both cuts again and just hated it. It played it way too safe and bland, as if the producers were afraid to take chances and by the time they decided on a course correction it was too late.

No, people dislike it because it killed 2 established characters. Because it's a narrative mess that barely fits together. It has an impossible, uninteresting twist at the end with """bishop""", and then killed the main character.
They started shooting footage before they had even settled on a script. Its a mess. It's "fine". But it's a mess.

Thank you for this audiobook tried to look in Audible for this but I found only the Movie that we got and the Second Draft Version Novelizations.
And While I liked (the David Fincher Version) of Alien 3 I was always more Close to The Vincent ward,the Two of William Gibson and the Earth War Trilogy (Like Examples Outbreak, Nightmare asylum and Female War) like Continuation for Aliens.
This would be aliens .. she drifted fir 67 yrs before going bk with marines it when she rescued newt.. alien 3 is the prison colony .. then bleeds into alien 3.. it's a strange story .. I'm an alien fan ..
No this was the original aliens 3 script. This takes place AFTER the events of aliens. That's why Hicks and newt and Ripley and Bishop are all in the pod together because they had just escaped the queen. They weren't going to the prison planet in alien 3 originally. This is what they originally had planned and instead they went with the prison planet which is why everyone says they should have gone with this cuz it would have been better
Not too sure about the change aliens lifecycle but this is still better than alien 3.

Well....an egg somehow growing in amongst bishops guts is just silly and not believable. That was enough for me
Is it really tho? In the first 2 movies where were the eggs growing? Amongst mechanical stuff. H.r. Geiger created his designs to look bio mechanical. I was like "no way" at first, but then I thought about it. What's more unbelievable is that bishop didn't detect it. You'd figure an android would know if a "foreign material" was in its body. I dunno he was all messed up and torn in half so who knows.

Androids in the Alien franchise are in some ways also bio mechanical similar to the aliens so by going with that idea the Xenomorph DNA was actually compatible enough to produce the egg that grew in Bishop. I'm sure that if this movie was made there would have been an explanation but at the end of the day not everything has to be explained in a movie since it is up to the audience to use their imagination but sadly these days 99% of the audience don't have imagination or at least don't know how to use it lol.

The script was actually for a two hour long movie, novelizations are often a lot longer since they often describe everything that goes on in the scene. The books for the first four Alien movies were also several hours long, often based on earlier versions of the scripts with sometimes some creative input from the person who writes the novelizations themselves (with permissions from the movie's writers and directors).

Man William Gibson is one of the most preachy petti-childish authors I have ever read, so full of himself and his ideas presented through the viewpoints of characters. No wonder it wasn't made into movie. Not to mention he sounds racist all the time, "A Cuban art deco stair case with bright purple and colors?" lol or there was another part where he kept saying the Vietnamese Commando, he said it like 3 times, and the fact that he is Vietnamese had no bearing on the story. Not too colorblind are you Mr. Gibson. "Progressive are such amazing people but are obsessed with bring up race to try to try and make yourself look good, but it just comes off as stereotypical or racist.
You would have more subs if you read them yourself
