How to connect wired headphones to iPhone

- I'm a big fan of wired headphones because sometimes connecting a Bluetooth headphones takes much longer. iPhones don't come with a 3.5 mm audio jack unlike many other phones. So, to be able connect your wired headphones to your iPhone, you'd need to buy an Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone Jack adapter. Then, insert your headphone jack to the adapter. Just be aware, if you don't insert the headphone jack completely, you might still be able to hear the sound through your headphones but you headphones buttons might not work! So, make sure you insert your headphones jack completely. Now, you can insert the lightening end to your iPhone.

You're most welcome! Yes, it seems you've to make a final push as the ring on the jack creates an extra friction.

Yes, you could. But you've to buy the adaptor for Type C USB rather than lightning as for iPhone. In any ways, the next iPhone model will have USB C too.

Good question. Lightning port is designed for both headphone & charging. If you're worried, you could buy iPhone's original wired headphone at a reasonable price. But, as far as I'm aware, it should not cause any problems.

Yes, you can. Just make sure to buy a good quality connector/adaptor. The one I used in this video works, Amazon link in the description.

Welcome 👍 Yes, iPhone doesn't have a separate port for headphone. So, you could either use wireless charging or wireless headphone if you want both at the same time. Regarding wireless charging, I suggest Apple's original wireless charger from Apple's website.
my headphones work and i hear music through them however when im calling someone my iphone switches to its speakers and i dont know how to change that
It seems your headphones or adapter doesn't support microphone. So, in order to be able to speak to others, I guess iPhone switches automatically to speakers so that it could use its internal microphones rather than the headphone's. Please make sure you're headphones' microphone are working. Sometimes, you could switch to the headphone but selecting headphones from the calling application.

That's interesting point. You mean the same headphone with the lightning connector also has got Bluetooth and that you've to first connect using Bluetooth before it starts working using lightning connector?

Nope. And my Skullcandy headset has been working for months. Suddenly, I can still hear videos (i.e., youtube, tiktok), but I cannot hear people with the headset plugged in, and they can only hear me sounding "distant." Apple customer support was not helpful, either.
What do you use for calling, e.g., WhatsApp?

@@maddieperez8939 I found the solution: for this you need to buy an original apple lightening cable (it won’t connect as bluetooth)
For lightening cable settings- firstly, update your phone to latest ios, it will come automatically. When you connect any original applelightening cable/earphone - lightning cable option will arrive.

If your headphones has got Bluetooth then you could connect it with Bluetooth instead. Yes, iPhone has got some annoying features but overall I think it's better than other phones. I've used both iPhone & android phones for many years.
When I connect my Apple wired earphone(jack type) with “Apple lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter” to mobile. Bluetooth on and asks to connect beats popup animation for Bluetooth connection. After connection “volume adjustment not working”. Anybody faced this problem ✋ help me 🙏

does your headphones got microphone? Also, make sure the 3.5 mm jack is completely inserted into the converter's audio port. It's also possible the quality of your converter isn't good enough.

It could be that "the Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone Jack adapter" that you've bought isn't working. Maybe return it and try buying another one (better quality). Before doing so, please make sure you're inserting the 3.5 mm headphone jack completely (no gaps) into the adaptor's port!
