    📖 Full story 📖
The Ghost in My Holiday Home
I always thought ghost stories were just stories...
Until I stayed at a supposed haunted house for a weekend.
My name is Alice, and I want to share a very strange weekend with you.
Last summer, my family decided to rent an old holiday home by the sea.
It was a beautiful, large house with creaky wooden floors and big windows.
The first night, everything seemed normal.
The next day, a neighbor told us the house was over 100 years old and haunted.
I laughed because I didn't believe in ghosts. That night, I started to change my mind.
As I lay in bed, I heard the sound of footsteps upstairs.
But I knew everyone was asleep.
It was very late, and the house was dark and quiet.
    Suddenly, the room got colder.
I felt a chill and pulled my blanket up to my chin.
I thought it was just the wind.
Then, I saw a shadow move across the wall.
It looked like a person, but nobody was there.
I was too scared to scream.
In the morning, I told my family about the noises and the shadow.
My brother said he heard something too.
We decided to explore the house together.
We found an old photograph in the attic.
It was a picture of a man who looked like the shadow I saw.
The back of the photo said, "Edward, 1898."
That night, we heard the footsteps again.
This time, we all went to investigate.
The noise led us to a locked door.
My dad found the key, and we opened the door.
Inside was an old library with hundreds of books.
    It was dusty and untouched.
We didn't see the ghost that night, but we felt like someone was watching us.
It was spooky, but also exciting.
On our last day, we met an old lady who lived nearby.
She told us that Edward was her great-uncle and a kind man.
She said he loved his home and never wanted to leave.
We left the holiday home with a new story to tell.
I still don't know if ghosts are real, but now I keep an open mind.
It was an adventure I'll never forget.
