I usually map the market on the 1hr, 4hr and daily timeframe. Ive never used the session profile. I use Vwap for anything lower than 1hr for some quick scalps with the focus always being the bigger timeframe. Volume profile is such a great way to know the market structure. It gives enough edge to make your trading easier. Is like having a map and not getting lost

You go on and on about how "you need to know X, Y, Z" for several of the points but never actually explain anything in a way we can practically use it (i.e. you go on for minutes about what could happen if you include the wrong number of days in the composite profile, but never ONCE explain what to actually include and what not to). I liked your other videos but this one is low on actual practical value.
One example of this is 12:49 you need to know where to start and stop your profiles ... seems never to be answered. A single comment / pointer as to where to start and stop profiles would have been immensely more helpful.
Would love to hear more on when and when not to use value area highs and lows as potential entries...more on determining who's in control. Just found you, and have started binging...maybe I'll find more in another existing video. Whatever the case, I appreciate the work you're doing to educate on this complicated topic.

I hope this isnt a dumb question. But when stretching out a volume profile (visible rang VP in Trading view) I know you said not to arbitrarily, choose a random spot to observe the volume profile. Do you have a video that shows us how to use that profile and to choose an amount of data from a certain date? That makes sense or a series of methodologies that makes sense? This is in regards to the third thing that we do wrong.

I find using volume spread analysis (VSA) more useful than session volume profiling at moment trying to apply volume profiling to my current system interferes with my analysis . I am sure they work in concert, but too much indicator on my chart is distracting....
There are a lot of great tools out there, but focusing on too many at one time will just lead to confusion!! Better to master one thing or as few as possible 👍🏼
@@korbstrading hi korbs thank you for your reply, i was trying to use session profiling on tradeviewing to track institution money, the bid (buying )and ask (selling) volumes traded at POC do not seem to correlate well to the price movement I was expecting when bid is greater than the ask volume the price will stablize at poc , is it a common misconception?

You say very specific things have to happen. What are those things? What does it look like and how can we use the VP to see those specific things happening.

Not sure whether you answer questions on these old videos but when you're comparing value areas of different sessions, do you do it regular-day-session to regular-day-session, or day-session to the overnight? I am mainly trading the overnight due to where I live. Would you compare overnight to overnight in my situation? Enjoying all your videos by the way. You deserve many more subscribers.

Hi Aaron regarding where to start drawing the profile should in my opinion draw the history the price you are interested in buying or selling for example. If. I trade within a day I would like to find areas with high volume and mark them as support and resistance right?
Should we zoom out the charts while using the volume profile indicator? I see that the POC is changing as we zoom in and zoom out the chart. For Daytrading purposes only, could you please advise the correct and accurate way to use the volume profile indicator.
The profile should only change as you zoom out if it is set to “include all bars on screen” I do not use that as a profile setting so my profiles do not change as I zoom 👍🏼
Korbs, what’s your opinion on TPO or market profile? Do the same principles apply for the most part? My platform does not have accurate tick-by-tick volume profile and instead averages volume off of the 1 minute chart. Do you consider TPO and market profile as valid tools for at least gauging big picture context if not for use intraday? Thanks!
For Volume Profile, to the tick data is very important. If you bulking it in by time you will not get an accurate profile. There are many similarities between VP & MP, I like to think of VP as an evolution of MP. It is a superior tool in my opinion. MP has usefulness so there is nothing wrong with it, but if you are serious about Volume Profile there is no reason not to switch to a broker that will allow for real time tick data. This is your business, set yourself up for success 👌
@@korbstrading yeah anyway that could help you on the sense of direction that you're going as well as line up with the lvns and POC, high-volume nodes whatever give additional confirmation of the way you pull your since you have the right sense of direction of the market
When you said that you have to know if the bears or the bulls are controlling the market or if it is trading sideways, that really stood out to me because I have been applying the same analysis regardless of the market conditions. I really appreciate all the hard work you put into your channel.
So basically, just because the price action is likely going to move drastically, don't make the mistake of assuming you know which direction it will move.

Where and when to start a profile is KEY to building composites. You then develop your own merge rules and begin to see value migration.

Third mistake - Drawing profiles at random places....what is/are the right place(s)?
Best way to look at drawing Micro Composites are when the daily value areas are overlapping for 2 days or more! Lots of this inside my training, Tom!
