All cameras and electronics in trucks now are making driving so dangerous and a huge distraction. Most of our time driving a linfox truck is making sure we don't set a camera off , don't go over a little rise and over speed the truck to 101 kph or more. We run orange lights because often they change so fast to that we would rather run the light than stop on a dime and set our truck cam off, then 2 days latter get a big lecture from our manager why we set the cam off
Why the surveillance on the drivers only, and not on the delays during loading and unloading? Indifference on this issue by shippers and receivers is a big contributor to the pressures placed on the drivers.
Safety my ass it's a load of shit I 've had his trucks over take me while I am doing 100 I've had them over take me through the road works when I rang the company the person that took the complaint I found out they saked the person that took the complaint I did a load for them out of Brisbane after I loaded they told me to go out in the street to put the tarp on cause the they don't want to take the responsibility if ifall off in thier yard
Don’t listen to Lindsay Fox.No 1.Looks like he’d rather a feed than a fight & not the other way around.No 2.Driving a truck is not just as easy as driving a car.One & a half ton car to a 65 ton B Double or 42 1/2 ton semi trailer is the same is it?No 3.Are all truck related accidents due to fatigue are they?A black box only records what the truck driver does but doesn’t stop other road users performing stupid manoeuvres around or in front of trucks.Black box or not,you are never going to stop road accidents.Just because someone with money who thinks he is the be all & end all of the industry gets on TV & sprukes what he says should happen,doesn’t mean he is right.He has some of the worst drivers on the road along side Ron Finemore who’s 90% of trucks are speed limited to 90kph,an absolute disaster on a freeway waiting to happen.Talk to the real truck drivers not these big company owners who aren’t on the road anymore and are there only to make the most money.Actual driving of trucks has changed from the last time Fox drove a truck full time.Doing a run every 2 years don’t make you a truck driver.No.4.Did you ask Fox what sort of experience do you need before he will put you in one of his trucks?No manual trucks,all automatics & not much experience needed.Good on him & he has done well & good luck to him but he talks a lot of crap & media & authorities tend to listen to him only because of who he is not because he makes any sense.
