  • @Arcessitor
    @Arcessitor Před 2 lety +42

    When shaping the reverb (of vocals and throws in particular, but it applies to any instrument), it's often better to put the shaping EQ BEFORE the reverb (known as the Abbey Road reverb trick). It makes the entirety of the reverb less dense while not eliminating the brilliant sheen of the reverb, and it makes your reverb able to be much louder without getting in the way or even sounding like it's there (until you take it away).

    This guy is so inspiring and such an excellent teacher! I've heard some pretty cool tracks people made using LMMS and I've been at it myself for a while. The track kept going from good to bad to worse and finally to almost perfect. Mastering is a pain because every new sound you add takes up space in the stereo bandwidth. Certain frequencies can overaccumulate and lead to clipping and muddiness. I found what helps is EQ and adding slight attack to some instruments (too many playing at exactly the same time causes that 'muddy' sound).
    Thanks again for your amazing tutorials! 🙂

      @@eduardpopa3905 map your midi controller to parameters you want to tweak, like let’s say you want to add some life to your bass or synth stabs or whatever, then just record the automation live and then edit some bits if needed. more fun than drawing automations and also you get some surprising results you wouldn’t get otherwise. or you could get super frustrated because you just can’t get it right. one thing to keep in mind is, that there is no ”right”. there are no mistakes, just happy accidents, or something.
