Finding the last gym after the other has beaten the 7 you needed + the E4 and champion is kinda pointless lol

Funny how when you look at the final score, Champion vs 2 badges, it seems like aDrive got blown away but really he was one door away from being right in it.
Yeah, 95% of this run is finding the gym leaders/Elite four/champion chambers and a sensible path to them and 5% is just sweeping through them with some overpowered mon you caught.

@@zarif1217 The time taken to get a strong mon isn't even really that much time out of the run. It is just scouting until they happen upon victory road or a legendary and then using that to clear out any trainers in between them and doors. The most impressive part about these runs is frankly the knowledge of where all the different loading screens can be found.

You watch so called "no lifers" when you want to see a game pushed to it's human limitations, you watch a TAS if you want to see a game pushed to it's actual limitations, and you watch a channel like SmallAnt if you want to see a plethora of interesting content that doesn't even strictly pertain to speed running.
All attract for different reasons. I don't quite get why someone would watch one guy speedrun one game all day for months at a time, but that's just me. SmallAnt is definitely preferable to that.
@@ryankelly1246 his Minecraft blackout match against the best speed runner was pretty good. He lost but was also close to winning.

Spending that small amount of time getting Abra with teleport was actually 5head holy shit. Came in clutch.
He learned that one from his last challenge... trying to wipe against low level Zubat for minutes on end must have been traumatizing.
That’s the meta for these warp randomizer races. You need teleport to help get you around quickly and get you out of potential softlocks. The creators of this hack made teleport able to be used anywhere for that reason.

Seeing aDrive actually having ant messed up with the early game mind games was CRAZY but a cool change of pace, definitely wanna see more of Ant and aDrive doing more like this!
I love how every time, the opponent bluffs, Ant doesn't know whether or not to fall for it, but then he just ends up sweeping them outright.

@@apollohold just report the ones you see. At some point, it may make a difference. Especially, if everyone reports them. The same bot will often leave a reply on multiple top-level comments, just report it once. Eventually, CZcams might take the hint

@@turtletube5068 honestly, world champion is scarier than the devs. High level players of games almost always have a higher skill level than the people who made them. Creating and playing games are 2 completely different skillsets. This is evidenced by devs who watch people speed or challenge run their games and are absolutely amazed by what players are able to accomplish in them

It's so interesting how in a race, someone can seem so far ahead, but a bottleneck like finding Gym 3 can make it so much closer as both players try to find it.

Genuinely impressive that aDrive had SmallAnt shaking a bit in the early game.
The mind games and meta aspect of these challenges are always super interesting and it’s not easy to pull one over on Ant like that.
I mean, the mind games didn't really affect SmallAnt in any significant way. If anything it made him play better/faster because he was a bit anxious. Doubt it would have made much difference if aDrive didn't say anything or not.

Everyone that challenges Ant sees the “Small” in his name and are like, “yeah this’ll be easy, hes literally a small ant like how could I lose.” Little did they know Ants can carry up to 20x their body weight (maybe more), and SmallAnt is no exception…

It would be interesting to have some kind of progress indicator in this like there is in alttp randomizers. You could show progress on finding gyms and elite four, as well as beating them.
yeam maybe also a system that tells you what leads to where by interacting with a building or ladder as well

Being a good speedrunner helps of course but when racing these other runners that little bit of planning really boosts him ahead

Hot take here but all of smallants collab content outside of the stuff with Wolfe is just the worst stuff he produces. Not to say it’s not enjoyable but he just makes really great solo content and works well on his own.

I'm curious how SmallAnt and aDrive did their labeling system/notes for marking down which loading zones go where. If I was doing a loading zone randomizer, I think I would want to set up an elaborate giant map labeled with numbers and an "IN" column of what the outside looks like (where you start) and an "OUT" column where you end up (where the door takes you.) That would help me keep the information organized by having a visual aid of the map and the corresponding numbers.
