Brilliant videos, Adriano.... really fascinating - please keep them coming! Can I ask, do you know which type of anti-shock device is used in a SW200-1? And also, I'd be interested in a video on tips on how to detect fake watches - or is that too broad for a subject? Thank you very much for your videos.

I thank you and sorry for the very late answer. The Sellitas SW200's use both the Novodiac and the Incabloc, depending on the grade or manufacturer option. In other words, pretty much like the ETA's. And about fake watches, yes, many people asked me but today it's really a very very broad and is getting more and more a matter of "felling" than a technical evaluation, given the level that the fakes have reached, unfortunatelly. But it's not out of question to talk about it.

Idk if it’s me but I feel like not all of modern mechanical movements have incabloc/diashock in them, it’s mostly the Seikos, Marathons and Sinns

...I’ve done some quick searches as I remember Rolex (once or still?) use/(ed) two shock absorption systems. It seems the two may have been Kif and Paraflex. I think previously an Explorer used Paraflex, whereas a Submariner (maybe) had Kif. My searches show Paraflex was a latter exclusively Rolex design. It looks as though Rolex may now only be using Paraflex. Please can you outline the correct history and comment on Paraflex. Please also comment on Rolex’s Parachrom Bleu Hairspring, whether it is a unique point of difference, etc. Thanks very much!

Tudor sponsored tiger woods suggesting they could withstand golfing shocks. But what I really wonder is, can any watch withstand the career of a professional boxer? In this regard to what extent could Mike Tyson, now or in his prime, wear a watch whilst doing heavy bag work outs? What kinds of watches might withstand such abuse? Immediate contenders are G-Shocks, but it’s hard to take them seriously as a covetable watch. I use boxing as an example as it’s a natural type of shock. There is heavy construction equipment like concrete breaking jack-hammers (which G-Shock may survive), but that is too severe to expect any watch to withstand. There is normal hammer activity and other stick sports like golf, but as I say, I consider withstanding boxing forces as the best measure of what one may expect a watch to realistically aspire to withstanding... I expect incabloc was designed to withstand occasional dropping forces, but to what extent can we expect them to put up with our most rigorous sporting / active lifestyle activities? Are we simply best to always be mindful and remove our watches and put them in a safe pocket, or are these systems durable enough? I think children and teenagers can be even more brutal with watches, but MT (or George Foreman, etc.) on a heavy bag is quite easy to picture.

I found a watch at a thrift store, it has “incabloc 17 jewel” on the dial. The brand is Maritime, but can’t find any info on it. It looks very old and it’s running a bit fast.

Has anyone ever hear of "Shock Resist" type of absorber? It is a three pointed tab device that holds the cap and base jewel in place. Can someone tell me how to remove those jewels for servicing?
