    UPDATE* So I owned these about 10 months and got maybe 5-6 solid uses out of this LEKATO wireless IEM kit. At about 5 months the ON/OFF switch broke out of the casing making it impossible to turn on and off resulting in the battery always dying. Finally I was able to turn it on and off with a paperclip by sliding the broken switch on or off. Around 7 months the transmitter clip broke { which isn't the end of the world) but I was using this filming a wedding , I went to clip it onto a cord on the camera and the clip literally fell apart in my fingers. At about the 9/10 month mark the internal battery refused to hold a charge anymore so I took it apart only to find the internal connections from the battery to the board were no longer connected. I re soldered them to the board and had it working for about an hr and then it never would turn on again.
    IN SUMMARY* if you are on a tight budget maybe roll the dice on these and see if you have batter luck than I did with them. I could have just replaced the transmitter for an additional $38 but at that point I didn't even want to waste the money. My suggestion would be to maybe find something with better quality control and durability. these won't last long if you plan on doing any serious work with them.
    May the odds be ever in your favor!😉

    I found the 12ms delay wasn’t a problem for monitoring instruments. However, when singing, the delay created a chorus effect between the sound in my headphones and the sound in my head. Not a big problem but noticeable when changing the pitch of a note. I also had some issues with AF interference when the transmitter was close to my keyboard or mixer and had to be careful where the transmitter was placed.

    The sound on mine is totally distorted! No matter the volume or gain on the mixer. I use the Behringer XR18 and X32R mixers. I just can't get it to sound good. Really sucks... I also have the Xvive U4 that sounds way better!

    • @TheMadSciontist
      @TheMadSciontist  Před rokem +2

      If your sound is distorted you should try to adjust the volume output on the receiver. If you already have the Xvive U4 im not entirely sure why you bought this then, because this is a budget wireless option for those who dont wish to spend the 200+ for the Xvive

      It might be defective. Headphone level worked fine with mine. The -10 db aux out on my mixer worked too. Your mixers should work fine if you keep the level down to about -14 or less. Try it on a headphone output from your phone or tablet. It should work just like you headphones.

      If those mixers use wifi then that also could be your problem. Rule is dont put near any 2.4ghz bluetooth near wifi routers.

    Great video man! Forreal though for 60 bucks this is the way! These sound great and work great. Haven't used them in a true live situation yet but when I do I'll update. Should be tomorrow. If it works well live I'm 100% sold and will buy more! I'm thinking with multiple units you'll want them to be as far away from eachother as possible but we will see.

      @@landrover971 man...I forgot all about this. Lol. They work fine but they do pick up interference from phones and what not. As for multiple units idk. I didnt buy another one after the interference issue. It's not bad, just a bit crackly when a text or something is coming in and you are near the transmitter.

    Hi, thanks for highlighting these they look great. Just one question on the mono stereo options, my current set up mixer gives out 2 chanels one with click one with track. One goes to one ear the other to the other ear..... which is awful, so with this could I switch this unit to mono and hear both these through both ears at the same time?

    • @TheMadSciontist
      @TheMadSciontist  Před rokem +1

      yes if your recording track and click are on independent channels switch the transmitter to MONO and it should blend the two together as one channel so there is no left or right pan

      @TheMadSciontist I bought some..... unfortunately, the mono stereo switch just sends the left channel into both ears rather than a suming of both channels, which is what I expected tbh, I was just hopeful 🤦‍♂️ .... theyre still better than carrying something that needs power supply and is large so I'll keep them and use a mixer but was really hoping not to have to. Disappointed at that but still for 40 quid good little gadget.

    • @TheMadSciontist
      @TheMadSciontist  Před rokem +1

      This kit I got only has one of each but I believe they sell bigger kits where you get more receivers. or you could but more small solo kits like this and link all the receivers to the one transmitter. I'd imagine they all operate the same so Im thinking if you had more receivers they would all link to one transmitter the same.

      Audio signal from transmitter to receiver can either be set in stereo or mono mode depending on your listening/playback needs.

    Does it have built in headphone amp? Can i go direct from aux out (mixing board)->transmitter? Thank you

    • @TheMadSciontist
      @TheMadSciontist  Před rokem

      im not sure about a built in headphone amp but I run this from my 16 channel, aux to transmitter and with the added adjustable volume on the receiver. it is more than loud enough for any use.

    • @doknox
      @doknox Před rokem

      Yes it does. So with that in mind you need to turn the output volume down some and use the on board volume for amping. If the output into the device is too loud it clips and sounds like garbage! Just turn the headphones output down about a third from normal. Dont use the auxiliary out, use the headphone out.

    • @TheMadSciontist
      @TheMadSciontist  Před rokem

      I dont know what else it would be for? and you will have no latency problems unless you are running this system in a crowded 2.4ghz zone.

    • @darrylday30
      @darrylday30 Před 3 měsíci

      12 ms latency. It works pretty good for monitoring instruments. I have a digital mixer which ads a bit more latency and I can hear a slight chorus effect between the sound of my voice in my head and the sound of my voice in the headphones. At normal monitoring levels it may or may not be a problem for you.
