I’ve tried it with all kinds of wool! Smooth merino seems to work the best, but it works with every kind. Try different twisting the wool as you wind it on the skewer and try winding it both tightly and then with a lot of space between to see which you like. Different twists and winds gets different results.

I really want to learn how to make this. So how do you form the shape of the dog, do you buy or make it?
I make them all by hand using core wool and wire armature! (See my other videos for instructions).
Too bad I can't speak and understand English ☹️, but I use the Portuguese translation 👍
