Or they just don’t care and stay in their lane. 10+ dollars for a fast food meal is pricey considering there really isn’t any nutrition and u might end up still being hungry. Vs $10 a month on for unlimited access to a gym? Even if you only went once a week it’s not that bad compared to Taco Bell or McDonald’s for one meal! It’s longevity over momentary pleasure. They straight up told a woman that being obese is BETTER for you when you have EDS!! I have struggled with EDS my whole life, and both my mother and I are disabled from it. Carrying around extra weight makes your pain WORSE. Not using your body makes your muscles weaker and your joints dislocate MORE. It makes your hormones worse (my EDS is linked to my PCOS) which causes all kinds of problems. I can't believe they said that. This woman was in tears, grateful that FSB told her this and believed them despite seeing dozens of doctors & specialists over the years that never said such a thing. why!! Why believe FSB?! Over your doctors?! Ik it sucks dealing w doctors and never getting better but this is NOT it. I promise you gaining weight will make you feel WORSE. Losing weight is hard with EDS, but my mother lives a much more fulfilled life and manages her pain far better now that she's at a healthier weight. Holy crap, I'm so mad!!

Back in the day, before the clothes selection was as massive as it is now, I had to wear clothes that were too short, from the mens' section or shop at specialised shops for tall women where price tags were eye-watering. I also used to be borderline obese which meant that I could only buy clothes in shops that catered to tall women AND had my size range (this was before online shopping was really a thing), or wear badly-fitting mens' clothes. My second reason for losing weight - beyond health - was to be able to at least buy SOMETHING that fit me in a regular shop. I still remember I burst into tears when I fit into a pair of jeans at Zara (their biggest size but STILL A WIN). I'm now at a BMI of 22 and clothes still often don't fit me, but the Internet exists and I can shop around. In essence, overstating harm allows people to escape accountability by weaponizing their perception of being harmed. This frequently happens at an interpersonal level, so I think the political dimensions of overstating harm is also not a new phenomenon. There is a really good book by Sarah Schulman called "Conflict is Not Abuse" that does a really great job explaining how overstating harm is weaponized and gives a great criticism on the culture of blame that everyone from activists to people in toxic relationships may face.

The fas like to point it out that naturally skiny people have thin privilege what they failed to realize is that that person probably eats healthy and has an active life, the same can be said to people who were fat or obese and manage to lose weight the fas like to say that they got "temporarily skinny privilege" what they again failed to realize is that that person put effort into getting into a good health by having a better lifestyle and having a more balanced and nutrition diet and having the dedication to maintaining this lifestyle after losing the weight aka achievement

You know what a lack of privilege is? Having your health problems attributed to your *menstruation.* Being told it's normal to bleed from your butt after a scoping and that you don't know what a normal amount of blood is when you've been doing this for half your life and you know damned well how blood in the toilet bowl works when you're internally bleeding. I needed 2 blood transfusions that day, and if anyone has ever been to a hospital for anemia or anything, you know how stingy they are with doling out blood. Did they apologize after? Repeatedly. But I wasn't believed. My word wasn't valued. My concerns weren't irrelevant.
You're upset you don't get pretty dresses? That's ground breaking for you? I'm upset my life was in someone's hands, who was meant to save me, swore to do no harm and proceeded to tell me to my face, paraphrased, I'm a dumb child who didn't know what "I'm bleeding to death" means. The worst part? They still practice today. My suffering got them no consequences. No one analyzes, no one speaks up. If you're not loud about it, they're happy to pretend it didn't happen. YOU didn't happen. You're an anomaly. Come back to me when you wake up in the ICU with a blood pack funneling directly through an IV because medical malpractice almost cost your life.
I don't care if you "could have died", I want the proof. You can tell me all you want you were discriminated against the doctor because they don't understand you can't diet and exercise but what you need is less of help by this point and more restraint. If a padded cell would suit you better, I have no pity left for you. You bled me dry.
(Apologies OP... this comes from the heart but it's raw and uncut because I have Covid. Your voice soothes me, but fat activists are a hit and miss trigger... please don't feel bad and keep up what you feel passion about because I'm jealous how kind and selfless you're capable of being.)

By their logic, going to school is also classist.🙄

You worded this so eloquently!! It’s so true that so called “social justice” has just become people self-victimizing and calling out the most ridiculous “privileges” in others. More and more “marginalized” subgroups are being created out of first world problems that are frankly non issues

My gym is $30 a month, that's about a dollar a day. If he ate a 2500 calorie diet everyday, that would more than cover the cost. Hell, just keeping your diet the same but only drink tap water would cover it. Literally eating all your money and then complaining about not having money for losing weight is insane.

The word "privlage" is the most over used word: It's totally ridiculous at this point.
The worst part is, society has always created a mode that women need to fit in, and that mode changes constantly. So movements like the body positive should have been the blessing all women needed to accept themselves that aren't in the current mode. But this HAES and fat acceptance has gone way way beyond what women need. It is unhealthy and gives them a a chip on their sholder to sit around blaming everyone else for the fact they have, basically, given up on themselves and being truly healthy in mind, body and soul.
Great video as always! Some excellent point!

This was a REALLY well-spoken opinion piece! You put into words what's been in mine and so many other's heads. I rarely watch a CZcams video that makes me stop and go 'wow!' but this one did.

I like the term “micro-privileges” that explains every “privilege” FA complain about all the time so nicely, you hear that term and it kinda explains itself. Idk what I’m trying to say lol it’s just a nice straight to the pint term that’s easily understandable

Lindo Bacon said the same thing about how privilege is a spectrum, and they were completely dogged on!

Exactly. Fatphobia is mistaken misogyny. In the 90's, Margaret Cho lost a television feature because she was "too fat." She was replaced by the Drew Carey show. How many inches do you think his waist is around lmao ,,,
