    Great video of a wee Scottish salmon from a wee river.
    Just so people know,most Scottish rivers run a catch and release policy on salmon to try to get population numbers back to what they were 50yrs ago.

      1 salmon per angler for a season seems reasonable and would at least offer something to be kept aswell as keep population increase going. Be good to see the rivers return back to old days

    Late autumn salmon dont always eat well..energy muscle and body going into producing eggs and milt.
    Yes I fully agree with catch and release with autumn fish

    Hmm, Mybe keep your rod tip higher so the rod flex can absorb more of the headshakes, exept that good stuff:)

    I live in this area and have stood on the banks but never fished the shin. That and its neighbour the cassley are on the spring to do list though. Another river near there worth a shot is the alness.

    Do you have to pay to fish there? How much does it cost and what is your rod and reel set up?

    In the middle of watching you fight this fish at the start of the video! What a fight it's putting up! May I ask what river this is and how I would go about getting on it for the 2024 season? Cheers!

    clamp the line to the rod with your right hand and bully its head up for the net 6.5lbs no problem far too long on that fish

    I would shoot a dear for food. But for what some people consider sport no. There is ,however ,an advantage to Americans hunting dear. At least they're not shooting each other.

    You should never point your rod that much towards the fish lad. At least not in my book of fishing rules

    • @FraserCheyne
      @FraserCheyne Před 9 měsíci

      😂😂😂salmon don't eat anything in fresh water any time. They take out of aggression. They only feed at sea. And pointing your rod at the fish is the correct way as you need them to take line and turn. If you strike you lose the fish

    • @Marco-mg9tv
      @Marco-mg9tv Před 8 měsíci

      Correct on the take - Not during playing the fish though rod tip needs to be up 90 degrees or so to the line
