Wow, I ignored the release but this song is whack af. Where's all the technicality gone? In that aspect even Abrahadabra was better.

IMO Dimmu Borgir lost a lot more than they bargained for after they kicked out Mustis. Progenies and In Sorte Diaboli are masterpieces, Abrahadabra and Eonian represent a completely different band.
They sound better now.
abrahadabra is easily their best work, this is even more of a let down since it had to follow it up
Abrahadabra is their worst album, no question. This album is much better. EDT is still king though.

A complete drum-noob question (on this channel because I love watching talented people perform) - do you have to change the material that you hit with drumsticks (is it called "the batter"?) once in a while (as you would have to restring guitars) or do just adjust the tension and it's good to go?
Cypher yup, if they get worn they won’t sound as good, but you do t have to change them nearly as much as strings
