    Even after everything Maul took from Obi-Wan, he still held him in his arms as he died..

      I also feel like this was a good representation of loss, not of a loved one but of a life that you used to live. He was truly the last remnant of an age that Obi Wan only sees in his dreams now. Both of them lived hard lives and were burned by the dark side.

      @@TheNovelGamer I’d say obi wan also recognized that maul was a victim too in all of it.

    Really loved this reaction! Obi-Wan's story is often overlooked in favor of the Skywalker saga, but his is truly a compelling story of perseverance through utter tragedy and loss. As you pointed out in the video: he lost his Master, his love, his brother, and literally the only family/support system he had ever known. He then lived alone in the desert for almost two decades, with only the thought of one thing to sustain him: Luke. And yet, he never fell to the Dark side. This video made me tear up the first time I watched it, and it continues to make me emotional on every rewatch!

      Ellie Frato-Sweeney The greatest scene in cinema history that beaten so many scenes, is scene 38 in New Hope, when you put Kenobi in the spotlight, he brought a man/padawan(Luke) who never met his dad, to meet his friend/padawan(Anakin) that he had watch growing up from a little kid, who later turned and destroyed all of his Jedi world, trying to rescue a woman what is the sister(Leia) of his current Padawan(Luke), while both this kids(Luke and Leia) were in front of their own father(Anakin), and they didn’t know it. They didn’t know Kenobi was watching Luke all this time after the fall of the Jedi Order, watching the kid grow up. In one scene, all three Skywalkers was there, none of them has total grasp what is going on, except for Obi Wan Kenobi. And in the end, he just smiled, as the family was finally in one place.

    It is in my opinion that, sure the films may be about the Skywalker family, but I think that Obi-Wan is the real hero. He guided Luke through the dark to the light of the force, molding the young man into one of the greatest Jedi Knights ever. The way I view it, Luke has the raw strength of the force that Anakin had while also having the purity of Obi-Wan.
    In the end, our poor Obi lost all but still held firm and pushed on all the way til' his confrontation with vader. His sacrifice is the most important part of all of Star Wars. It showed Luke what the light side was really about.

    These little, I don't know what you call them, are brilliant! They sum up the character and their depth in just a few minutes. To me they add substance and have made me look at them in a new way. Chosen one = heavy, Kenobi = heavy, Old Wounds = heavy, Maul-hatred = heavy. Who knew! Storytelling and editing skills are off the hook! Haha is someone chopping onions?

    • @OneProtagonist
      @OneProtagonist  Před 3 lety

      I don't know who has those onions, but they keep getting me too! lol FYI - most refer to these as "tributes," which I find is a very small word for the punch they pack when done well like this.
