Elliott Heap shreds his 14kg Nukeproof Reactor. 14kg (or 30 pounds) with full DH tires and 130mm front and rear travel, originally setup for dual slalom races
We knew the tracks would be tech and gnarly and Elliott being Elliott, loves a good challenge. Some of the tracks were heavily storm-damaged (we didn't realize until we turned up), and were pretty much unrideable. But Ell pointed the 130mm down the hill and somehow made it work. The first day we shot, Ell had a big OTB and sliced his hand open badly, forcing a hospital visit. But we got there in the end. Shot in gloomy North Wales on some of the shortest dankest days of the year. - Sport

How much travel bike is?
love the natural trails, thats what mountain biking really is.
Alot of those are not natural trails
people who can't jump be like
@@diegofcm92 People who can't ride rocks, drop, ride off camber and flat turn be like
Don’t get me wrong more travel is nice; I shred hard on trails like these on my 130mm SC 5010, but I’ve seen way too many people discouraged because of their “lack of travel”. It’s all about the rider! Send it!
Impressive, not a bermed out bike park.
right, those are basically hiking trails 😅😂
I knew Elliot when he was younger. In fact he helped our son ride his first dirt bike. Great to see him rip like this!
0:32 "130 is all you need..."
2:41 ...usually!
Wild .... I was hanging on, on my sofa 😄😄 If you've ridden the UK version of 'wet conditions', you'll appreciate the insanity of this more
That wet rock was giving me a panic attack!
So hard to flow through all the jank. I'm going to be doing the same thing in an hour. Just slower!
That back tyre is in the air as much as it’s on the ground 😳
sounds like hes riding a hardtail
full face + 130mm = inspiration
For Sale:
NukeProof Trail Bike
Hardly used, only ridden on Sundays, always looked after.
Rides like new!
Reason for selling: Too much travel, going hardtail to make trails more interesting.
POA
Good to hear even the pros have annoying squeaky brakes in the wet
Jesus...That some gnarly stuff!! Good work!
Also great to hear the bike and Trail rather than some screaming shit music
Nutt up or shut up!! awesome commitment! inspiring
Amazing ride
OMG 😱 THE LAST SECTION IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE OFF PISTE😁😁
Love everything about this 💚
Good work Tommy
This was a wild one. Big up Vital!
bet he runs bout 12 volume spacers
haha
Ya thats funny ! But man you were flying through that gnarly crap
30
Brutal sounds
Love it! Don't think I'd ride it quite that fast...
You certainly make that look easy. 👍
His turning capability is like none other. It’s like the bike is just an extension of himself.
that bike looks so good
Madness, so fast!
I dig hes body position on the bike, he's got that Loic Bruni stance.
Amazing what can be done on a medium travel bike. Glad I have 140mm x 130mm. Woo hoo !.
Ouch. That's a little bit rough for this reactor. Need a good maintenance. Nice shred by the way!
Dale ahí 🚵💨💨💨🔥🔥
I don't think those rocks been designed to be abused like that
That's insane. Really sick. Now the challenge. Do it on Scott spark RC 120mm front and rear hahahaha
Brutal
Its the rider not the bike... damn too good !!!!
Heaps of skill.
Wonder how long that bike is going to last x)
I'm using a 130 as an endurobike and sometimes I sort of feel bad for it when bottoming out the shock like 15 drops in a row...
Nice video 👍💯 what it's the name for the tires 👋 San Diego California
I just wanna ask which is better rear shock, fox float Rp3 or fox DHX 3.0
I hope you guys answer my question.
Yes
Taken the jank to the bank!
🔥🔥🔥
Elliott RIPS! 🤘
2:53 in.....is that even a trail or were you lost just heading straight down to the village.....unbelievable riding...and yup 130 is all you need.
rippingggg... but, sounds and looks to me like he could make good use of a bit more travel
'130mm of travel, all you need!' yeah, but I bet there was times you wish you had more...
thats what she said!!!!!
Not for Elliot, he used to live up the street from me. He used to rip on a unicycle, yes a unicycle!
Great ride great bike, but I won't be the second hand buyer haha
with such a rough trail, the name “nukeproof” really lived up to its name
🔥🔥
Eeeyy from Philippines
impressive riding but this actually shows why you do need more travel if you ride rough trails. this bike was all over the place
Edgy wet rocks, running downhill. Perfect
what's the best tire pressure for riding like that?
30 PSI + DH Casing + Cushcore
The Reactor is a bike that's been on my wish list all year! Please, pretty please, alloy version in Pillar-box Red with 27.5" wheels....!!!
Such a good bike!
That sounded a little painful for those rims, great riding tho
sometimes sounds like wild horses, sometimes like a flock of ducks
superb riding and nice bike but RIP those rims
do you think 140mm is not enough for riding that hard ?
@@dinunclv first of all it's 130 and secondly what is the question?
@@nicom4996 I am searching for a new bike, my first full suspension, and I wanted to know if a 130-140 bike can handle that abuse.
@@dinunclv Yes it can, it just won't plough through it as well as a 170mm enduro bike. Good strong rims are a must, regardless of travel.
@@Deebo1985 so it can, but will it get to grow old? :)
🤯🤯🤯
Air shocks don’t really have much sensitivity
Why is it always wet in the videos from Europe?
Should be when is it not !
*130mm and a rim sponsor is all you need
i know where this is holy crap!
Is it near betws?
@@chrisgrainger4858 indeed
This man is a fuckin savage
130mm travel? wew, just like mine
Watch this at .25 playback speed and take notes.
Looks good with 69 volume spacers in there
My bones hurt watching this. I have 20mm less travel 😬
New rims please
Tough trails properly destroyed ✊
What the hell did I just watch??
This can't be a normal bike...
Lol what is it then ?
it's not the bike it's the rider 😂
So to send trial in #MTB in the #Moutainbike the. new Nukeproof Reactor 27.5 guy rider. Elliott Heap so to fan to flow fast in madness in the. RAW 2020. Saluds of chile 🇨🇱 enjoy to #moutainbiking video
I mean... 130mm not really all you need but ok...
130 is all you need as he’s getting smashed around
Сочнейше!
holy shit he must have some tyre inserts, right? And most likely carbon rims
would figure he's on nukeproof ARD system if he runs inserts.
Tuuututtutuuututuutut.😀😀😀
"130mm, it's all you need"
(says a 5'5", 161 lb, 21 year old rider)
130mm if you're 130 lbs. or 58.9 kg. What if you're 230 lbs. 🤯🤣
A diet.
@@thegibbonisreal I would look like a skeleton @ 6'6" but thanks 🤣
that poor poor bike.
*Oh look, it is another Nukeproof in a colour you cannot buy. This one not even as a frame. Why does this company insist in promoting their team riders on bikes the public cannot buy?* Maybe there is another company doing this, but I can't think of one. Most of them have their riders on bikes that are available as colour options. Maybe their objective is 'If you want this bike, you need to be on our team'' - because they are looking for better riders. But if they are trying to sell more bikes, this makes no sense to me.
No diss on the riding or the bike. I wish i could ride like that. I also want that bike!
It’s so the bike stands out from the rest, and to give the team riders something special. We’ve had yellow megas for a good few years and this year they’ve released the yellow one to the public. So hopefully we may see some yellow reactors soon 🙏
@@elliottheap3509 aren’t you the only one that has a yellow reactor? Gotta say, yellow on nukeproof just looks 🔥, thinking about painting my 2020 mega to yellow as well
@@elliottheap3509 I agree it stands out and looks awesome. It's a great brand colour for Nukeproof. But I can't buy that bike. The issue I see is a marketing one. This is like a signature brand colour but it's not available to the public. Imagine Yeti had all their riders on that famous turquoise colour but never sold bikes in that colour.
I love where Nukeproof is going. It's such a great product. A great team.
I don't know the numbers, but from a brand perspective it might be worth getting some feedback on. Happy to help out too.
You need more travel or have some serious skills. I'd rather go for 180 mm :)
130mm of travel. Bye bye wheels.
*laughs in hardtail*
These tracks are far more sketch than it looks.
PLS GET THOSE BRAKES SILENT! MY EARS ALMOST DROP OFF EVERY TIME I HEAR THOSE BRAKES
Oh shut up!!
Ql lloron
Janky
Weight of rider matters? Less weight less travel needed imho, sick riding on that taxi cab yellow 🤢🤮bike
Hi Dan sorry I hurt your feelings. I was not mad or having a bad day. Just thought the color of this bike was ugly. After riding for 30 plus years and being 6’6 260 In my riding gear I’ve bottomed out many suspensions. So for me personally I prefer a little more travel. Just recently moved from a XC/trail 130 bike to a 150 trail bike and it fits my riding style and weight much better. To each there own, this guy rips and could ride a hard tail with 120 and still ride circles around most of us. Good day mate
Penmachno? if it is, this has to be the wettest place on earth to ride.
Yawn...
