"I'm an artist"
"Oh cool what's your field ?"
"Art."
Literally me lol
ok so i get that it's just a joke (that i did find funny btw) but i just wanna get something out of my mind :
ART IS NOT JUST "VISUAL" ART
just imagine for a second a music channel or a movie channel calling themselves an "art channel". That would feel weird and kinda pretentious right ? Then why do painters, sculpters etc do it all the damn time, when it's as much of an art as the other things i mentionned ? No, Jazza doesn't try every kind of art at all. He's only tried very few of them : apart from his short music phase, everything he ever uploaded on this channel was basically a representation of something in a visual way
@@samylemzaoui2298 As someone with synthesia I agree
@@samylemzaoui2298 Art is a stupid umbrella term in almost all cases. Literally every CZcams channel creates art.
@@JohnAndJohner to me an "art channel" has to be about art, not necessarally be art itself. In that sense, not every channel is about art so no, to me not every channel can be considered an art channel

Every single time Jazza tries something new: âIâve never done this before so Iâm kinda nervousâ
Jazza: *proceeds to create a masterpiece
Iâm sure having this level of mastery every time he tries something is the result of years of practice and once again I really admire Jazza for how cheerful and true to himself he is. Keep doing what you love â€ïž
you are correct in that statement friend, working with your hands gives you a sense that is hard to grasp it is as they say "the muses speak through my limbs" but the muses are the experience one has wrought for themselves in the crucible of adventure and exploration!
hahaha XD
Honestly, I've gotten back into art, and started knitting (after watching one of his videos), and the only way I can do it is fully knowing it could totally suck, and be fully prepared to laugh at it and myself. Even sucking is progress over not trying, and it's not like I have to show people. Since I embraced that mindset, I've actually gotten pretty good at realism.
What's more, after I lost my job due to covid protocols cutting it, I've started selling my knitting (I'm really good, but only at one thing right now, lol; I'll learn hats and stuff next off season! đ ) to make up the shortfall while I look for work. It's not likely I'll find a positon, since my Mom has cancer and we have to protect her from getting ill, so having something I can do has been a godsend. I'm even going to start an Etsy page!
If I'd kept my old mentality of being afraid to fail, I'd never have realized that I love realism, or that knitting can be fun and therapeutic. I can even knit while watching CZcams, or reading my ereader. There's been a lot of positive changes in my life because of that one change, inspired by Jazza. Jump in, fine with failing, and sometimes, everything just clicks. It's real freedom.
You know he's a real artist when his first attempt at wood carving comes out this good
jazzâs is the king of adding intense music over simple actions and making it work
Any other artist after staining the wood:
Ok, I'm done
Jazza: I'm gonna rub some dirt on it!
Hehehe true
Jazza tries something Viking-ish.
His brother Shad: So, you have chosen the punishment for *crimes against Medieval realism?*
He had punished Matt, now let's see would Jazza survive

Too funny. Repatriation at sunrise or Odins table this night u shall dine. Loved it Jazza, bet your bro wants one too. You know, Jazza, I realized why I'm constantly impressed by your art.
It's not that you don't make mistakes, or you're a perfect artist, but how you embrace it, and take risks instead of growing complacent with your work.
For example, whenever you tackle a new medium or method of art, you draw inspiration from different sources, and use your own techniques to improve on your skills.
In summary, you always strive to broaden your horizons, and that's something I really admire about you.
You put how I feel into words, thankyou. I completely agree
True that
How is this man so amazing at everything?
My favorite part of this channel is your ventures into all the various mediums out there. So much fun to watch.
The viking kinda has a face which tells that "I've seen things no man should EVER see ."
I noticed that the eyes were fully open. Having a little of the lid would have changed that completely. That and some slight change to the pupil (maybe bigger?). There'd be less of the "whites of the eyes" so he wouldn't look so frightened. But...it's beautiful. Very well done, especially with the added stain and weathering. Loved the detail in the hair as well.
Amazing work for a first try
I honestly feel like te hese wide open, fixating eyes remind me of ancient wood sculptures and masks i've seen in museums, often they have eyes like that, so I think he captured that feel perfectly wether it was on purpose or not. I really like it for that reason!

2 years late to this vid but I'm blown away. Wood sculpture is so, so very daunting for the exact reasons you said, and not only is it amazing to see a block of wood become art, but is phenomenal to see the artist so proud and surprised of their own work.
This video was a joy, great job man
He looks so surprised. Like he died staring at a Medusa that turns your head into a wooden statue.
Whenever Jazza mentions how you're supposed to 'cut the right amount' in stone and wood sculptur ing, it reminds me of how traditional art doesn't have an undo button

I love the dirt method. I buy axes from a company called Grimfrost, based out of Sweden. I mix ritch, dark, forest soil with linseed oil, and coat the raw pine handles after torching patterns. It gives it that "handled" (pun intendedđ) look.
The results speak for themselves, your instinct is phenomenal as always
Youâve revealed you have a cute dog. Now itâs basically CZcams law that you do "dog chooses my art supplies, style and medium"

Jazza: Spends *hours* on this piece made from wood
Also him: Surrounds the finished piece with a bunch of *lit* candles
Big brain time
The axe at the end also scared me
That's not as dangerous as you might think actually, the wood needs to heat up before being flammable, and the dirt protects it. And it's not like the sculpture or the candles are just gonna randomly fall on eachother
You know a block of wood doesn't actually light on fire that easely if a candle fell on it it would become a bit black at the spot where the flame was by the time he removes it,just need to sand that spot and it's all good
Give you a million bucks if you light a big block of wood like that on fire with candles. Safest bet of my life. If it's just a little damp it's not even gonna char.
This looks amazing!!! Very well done, @jezza
