This is really a great demonstration so a big thank you.
Is there a link or an address to where you can get the patterns such as the one that you are using?

Thank you! Sorry for the delayed response. I got this pattern from songbird carving by Roslyn Leach Dailey. You can find the book on Amazon or used on eBay. You can find some very good patterns on Pinterest.

Sorry for the long response. Songbird carving by Roslyn Leach Daisy.
This is a great book, if you search eBay you will find it. It’s available on Amazon as well.

todd nichols Welcome, I think you are going to enjoy carving birds. Most wood carving supply catalogs have bird patterns you can buy individually. Most have cut out blanks you can buy if you don’t have a saw. To get a good head start I would recommend a book or a video that takes you through the whole process, they are also available the wood carving supply stores.

What I need is a knife eraser that will put back the wood I accidentally cut away.

Thanks for your question. When doing detailing on a small carving, I use an Excel handle and a #11 hobby craft blade. I do strop them before I use them so I can change them out quickly when they get dull.
