I own an ‘02 f4i with the Coffman exhaust. The sound was spectacular. Very loud just like the video shows. I have taken it off since as I was concerned over the lack of back pressure. I didn’t notice that my power band was affected. Rather than a smooth rise 3k-9k rpm, it would retard up to 9k then be fine. Also, the acceleration did seem slower somewhat however that may have been due to the power band disruption
Nuno M I did not NOTICE a power increase down low, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. Also I never put the bike on a dyno to test it. The main thing was significant weight savings over the old exhaust. And of course the bike sounded MUCH better. Thanks for the comment and watching the video.
I have not noticed a decrease (or increase) in power. If there is one either way, I'm unsure. The noise and experience of that noise while riding is the main difference. And the sleeker look of a shorty pipe
I bought an f4i recently and it has some type of shorty exhaust on it. Do you have to get a power commander or tune these things so they run clean and healthy with a shorty?
Some say it isn't necessary to do a tune and reflash with power commander. I didn't do that yet and the bike runs fine. However it is my understanding that any time one adjusts the air filter and exhaust a tune should be done to make the bike run optimally. So I'd recommend doing all you can to make your bike run to its full potential. The choice is yours. I'm just a cheap bastard sometimes and haven't gotten around to doing the extra work. The bike runs good and so I haven't bothered yet. Probably will run even better with a proper tune since I'm running a BMC Race air filter as well as a short pipe!
+JEDI F4i I just want it to run completely as intended with no worries about whether its too rich or lean and having oil problems and heat problems and etc (not that I have those problems atm, just want to take care of the bike so i can have it for many miles)...Just want to make sure the bike is performing optimally, I'm not trying to tune it to be faster, just perfect running, you know?
Oh yes I understand completely. Then yeah it would be in your best interest to take your bike to the shop and have them install a power commander. Hopefully they will tune it for you if possible.. Otherwise you can do it yourself.
There is some popping after down shifting occasionally. This exhaust system gets compliments frequently from other sportbike riders. In my opinion it allows the bike to sound as it is meant to.. Free flowing and breathing healthily. I have a BMC air filter which helps in that. I recommend Coffman's exhaust to anyone and everyone who ever mentions looking for a new slip on for their sport bike. It was $200 which is very reasonable.. Yet it is very high quality. The moment I first held it before installing it I fell in love.. It's very light weight over stock exhaust, or most aftermarket ones. It comes with a baffle installed which helps bring the decibels down a bit.. I'm sure my neighbors would have preferred I kept it in. But when riding out in the country you can hear the bike from a half mile away.. When racing a mile or two away. Check out my video of my friend doing a flyby.
Ty for quick response! I am still torn. I love how loud my shorty is now but that silver coffmans on the silver F4i is callin my name. BTW I watched your sticker video..."Four Bangin," I instantly bought one for $1.96 on amazon.
Seth Shaffer I am confident that once you purchase your Coffman's exhaust.. You will be grinning ear to ear. It looks perfect. I personally guarantee you will love it. Go to stickernerd.com.. That's where I got my stickers. You pick the colors you want. Spend 15 minutes browsing I'm sure they have some you will like. They are Japanese tuning ones mainly (Honda civic type shit) but there are many that apply to our lifestyle and taste. Let me know what you decide on the exhaust brother!
Seth Shaffer you're welcome. Also stomp grip pads on the tank are another amazing little thing to add on the bike. The grip on your knees really snugs you into the bike through corners. Check those out as well I'll never ride without them.

Yeah I bet a regular Yoshimura or Akrapovic exhaust would perform better. The sound sure was fun though!
Best pipe out there got minds
That muffler looks and sounds great. can't wait to ditch the huge micron cannon that my F4i came with.....
Do it! Send me a link to the video after (=
Will do, should be getting it by the end of the week...
@@uptownsamcv im about to pick up the coffman exhaust. is it too loud for around town use if im trying to be discreet?
@@Pro355Street it was really loud.

is this so loud just ideling would make neighbors call the cops
Hi! Great video! Did you noticed that this exhaust give more low end power (more torque on low rpm)? Thanks

KiloEchoVictory Thanks my friend! Ride safe
great vid I think I'll be purchasing one , whats your phone mount called?
Man that sounds sexy!
have you noticed a difference in power due to there not being much back pressure?

+JEDI F4i Okay thanks man. I was looking in to getting one cause it's quite a difference in appearance and sound. Absolutely amazing! Thank you!

Did you get any popping? I have a 50$ shorty now on the same bike as you and it does not pop. Kinda wanting that popping mean sound.

Appreciate it. If I do get it, it will be after July. And will post back. Thanks again for quick responses.
