First 2 Rds have to be STARTERS
If you want a QB you go round one. The vast majority of QBs that go 2nd round or later never become franchise QBs. Very low success rate. If you pass on one of the top QBs, you marry yourself to Jones for another 2 years, cause next year has almost no blue chip QB prospects.

The last 3 drafts when 5 QBs are taken in the 1st rd, 1999-only McNabb and Culpepper were successful. 2018- only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are still with their draft team. Baker Mayfield has been a journey man. 2021-only Trevor Lawrence is starting and one of the 5 QBs taken is backing him up. All your Great QBs ( majority) have been taken in the later Rds. Joe Montana (3rd) We all know when Tom Brady was taken. Those are your guys recognized as the GREATEST

JJ McCarthy film is excellent the knock on him is volume. He ran a 6.82 3-cone as a QB hes an elite athlete...none of ther other QBs this year are running a 6.82 including Jadyen Daniels.
Giants need a QB bad...a QB gives hope for the future.

I was Qb crazy at first now I’m all in on getting our WR1 Nabers Washington guy and who’s knows maybe Cards like Nabers over Harrison Jr and he drops to us assuming Vikings trade up to 5 to get McCarthy
They still don’t have a second starting corner. That’s a problem. Do you want to use a draft pick to try to get back in the first round to potentially get a qb when you need a corner.
On what planet is a CB more important than a QB.
@@cooldude7821 I’m sure I didn’t say a CB was more important. I am saying they have a lot of needs and if you start trading picks to move up from 6 or move back into the first round for a QB, you’re losing at least your second Rd pick this year. Are you getting a competitive corner who can play opposite Banks in Rd 3,4,5,6? Ideally a CB isn’t more important than a QB, but you have an immediate need for a starting corner. However you feel about Jones, reality is you have a starting QB on the roster. You don’t have a second starting CB.

Everybody seems to write last year off as some big disaster..with all that we had going on,we won 6 games and pretty much gave away 3 other games. I really dont think we're as far off as people may think
We gave away both NY games last year. Should have been 8-9. Which is remarkable considering the circumstances. We're nowhere near contenders. But I wouldn't be shocked if we sneak back into the playoffs with a 9-8 record.

I'd agree, except it was the way Giants lost games that hurt. If the Cowboys beat the Giants 27 to 21 in week one, I wouldn't have blinked an eye...however, 40 -0? At times the Giants looked simply outclassed. The record itself did not bother me that much, it was a killer schedule.

Brian Burns... See this is where I get kinda of nausea,... Fear is the cause of it. I can't stop thinking if this is Dave Gettlemen's Leonard Williams. Say what you will, but I thought he was average for the money that the Giants were paying him for. I know edge is a premium position, and desperately needed, but also I am reminded of what good pass rushers can do without a defensive back field. Though, I believe the Giants are on their way. I will refrain from explaining what way that is... Because to tell you the truth I really don't know 🤐

McCarthy is a major mistake. I am not a scout, but I'm not blind either. Michigan had a great team, they won the national championship, beat Alabama and the Buckeye's, in prime time... That's hard to do. What scares me about McCarthy is that he didn't out perform his role. He wasn't asked to be a gunslinger. How do you break a habit of throwing the ball when necessary vs throwing it 40 times a game. What have you missed by throwing it less❓How do you know, when to throw the ball, vs when not to, if your not throwing it enough❓ I've seen to many QBs, like McCarthy, in my 20 years of watching pro football, that have not succeeded successfully in the NFL... Not never, but highly unlikely.
How many QB's like Daniels, Williams & Maye have you seen not succeed either in your 20 years.

This is the best QB draft in over a decade. No dis to you, but your opinion on McCarthy is no better than any other fan. The fact and film is out there, specialists who make a living evaluating talent are telling you that JJ McCarthy is a top 4 QB based on several factors including his overall grasp of the game and competitive attitude. McCarthy is a far better prospect than Jones was, or Lock or fill in the blanks. Any one who took the time to watch and listen to this kid can see that. The Giants should move up to 4 and the target is McCarthy or Maye period. We'll see.
Evan Neal... They don't know! Nobody knows... Carmen B. was hired for this very reason, to know what is and whats not. If the Giants knew who the starting 5 would be, there would be no need for Carmen B. He is not here just for Evan Neal. I don't believe this is a situation where Neal get more training. Time is up for Neal! That I believe for certain... The Giants are not going into the season with Neal at RT. What has changed since his injury to now... absolutely nothing. He going to perform or be benched. Evan Neal's career with the Giants now depends on Evan Neal accepting his fate... That is wherever Carmen B. wants him. Daboll is on the seat, regardless of what you and I think, because nobody's is bigger than the Giants, head coach included and winning is bigger than both. I like Brain 🧠 Daboll and I believe he's gonna make it happen with Neal or without.

Cedric Jones, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Daniel Jones, Ike Hilliard, Evan Neal, Ereck Flowers, Eli Apple, Ron Dayne, Mark Haynes. It is certainly not a list of very impressive NYG careers when you consider how high these players were taken…Just saying….

@@aaarauz1 Mark Haynes is my favorite player from that list. We took him 44yrs ago. We have not picked an AP like Haynes between picks 5-11 overall in 44 yrs man! Think about that.
He was only of the guys that helped us turn the corner, no doubt. Then left for Broncos, (he's a colorado guy, so I forgave him :) ) but it would have been nice to pair him w/ Mark Collins.

There are very fee times where owners have allowed coaching staffs to sit on their ass and wait for a perfect QB prospect to fall into their lap. And 90% of those cases require the coach to put up winning seasons in the meantime. At some point you have to take a shot on an imperfect prospect and pray it works out. Rolling the dice with a questionable young QB isn’t a perfect plan but being a middling team isn’t either. Shit or get off the pot
If the Giants want to win in 2024, the Giants will not draft a quarterback with the 6th pick in the first round. Such a quarterback will not improve the Giants in 2024. A wide receiver will dramatically help the Giants in 2024.

A lot of delusional giants fans actually had the audacity to say that the DJ contract was gonna end up being a bargain in 2 years when we signed him in March of 2023 because all the top QB's were gonna get 50 a year.
