    One of the few videos I’ve watched where someone likes the plow rather than the pusher. I would have to try both.

      We have a more recent video on the channel that illustrates better why I'd struggle with a pusher. Thanks!

      Thanks! It's an investment for sure but worth it for us. Good luck!

    Those "Chain-drive's" are Exactly what you Need. Just really think you should of went with a 6.5 or 7.0 footer, all because of the "angle-lation" "wind-row" effect... The price difference is negligible. Have a 6 footer on my almost just as big ( but only 2 wheel drive) 21hp & it's perfect. That rig can use some "add-on wings" at least ! Man you got 4wd 25 hp,super-meaty chains & more weight,... ya just have to "Go for IT".! Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

    I think the changes on the tire is part of the plow even on flat ground they help a lot especially in wet snow the cost of the plow long-term investment love watching your video very informative

    Good video Brother I'm buying one for mine now, I don't have anything like you do for property to plow but I like to do my neighbors yards to when I can. Thanks for the video!

      Thank you, Sir. The plow is one of those things that now that we've had it, I can't imagine getting by without it. Happy winter!

    Silicone or WD-40 will help stop the snow from sticking to yer blade. Find som car chainz for yer front tires. Handel's the ice even better! Might get some snow thiz coming week here in VA!

      I'll try that again on our next sticky snow. Happy winter! I do now have chains for the rear tires and it makes a world of difference.

    I'm thinking I'm watching this now for the third time I'm an average how much does a plow cost for a tractor like this I know pricing these days is hard to keep up with just an average

    What cutting edge is on your blade?

    • @Academy_Farm
      @Academy_Farm  Před měsícem

      @paulreter6466 that's the edge that came with the the plow new, I'm not sure what the manufacturer used.

    How do you know how far back or forward to adjust the blade? I see your tractor does not have a bucket level rod. I have a Kubota Ll3130DT and are making a snow plow blade for it. However I do not have a quick attach set-up on mine so I install it on the bucket. Also you must use it in float mode once the blade is down and depending on the angle of the snow blade it will change the attack angle...correct. Great video. Thanks in advance.

      The loader in float mode makes things pretty fool-proof as long as you have enough traction and the ground is frozen. With my setup I can see the plow shoes from the tractor seat so that's a good guage of level for me, but the setup is quite forgiving as long as the ground is frozen. When things are thawed, and I can't use float mode, you're right; it's a lot of feathering the loader hydraulics over uneven ground.

      @@Academy_Farm Thanks for the response. I am going to attach mine to the bucket and allow it to move up and down a bit. I don't have a quick attach on mine. Happy holidays.

    do you use the float on the loader when plowing?

    • @Academy_Farm
      @Academy_Farm  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes! Works well so long as the snow isn't super wet/heavy. Then I'll need to take the weight off the front end to get more traction.

    Small blade…….. why? Look you don’t have to have the blade full of snow when moving snow! Many times I would only use half of the blade while moving snow but I’m able to avoid have to be at the edge of the shoulder of the road thus avoiding too being to close to the edge of the road!

      I'd have a lot more passes (time) if I wasn't able to clear 5' at a time. I get what you're saying though!
