    Thanks for the video, this replacement can really be a test of patience, to losen or tighten all those knots you will most likely need more tools, also some close ups at the important sections would be helpful. Good luck!

    My main line snapped suddenly inside the tube about two years ago, and a friend replaced it for me. I bought a replacement and now with two years wear and tear I think I might have to try to do a second replacement. The problem seems to be sand that somehow gets inside the tubing. The amazing thing is how many folk use this bar, which otherwise is very good. And the designer who decided to use two different grub screw sizes should be ditched!

    What if I just want to replace the elasticized trim line without replacing the multi bore tubing or depower main line? It seems like this should be possible as long as I can disconnect the depower main line from the trim line. Any issues with this or tips for doing it? Thanks.

      Yep, North is junk and they refuse to honor a warranty. Should have bought core or Duotone.
      Only reason I’m doing this is to fix a manufacturing defect that almost sent me to an ER.

      @@North_Kiteboarding cant find the manuals that would be realy helpfull. The swivel wore out (streched?!) in my 2020 Connect Quick Release system, interesting to see if it is adjustable in some way

      This is incredibly difficult to near impossible on gear which has been used. Not sure why the depower has snapped inside the multibore tubing, but mine did. Manufacture defect?

    My depower line failed for the second time. It seems that the dyneema line that runs inside the tube (or the splicing of that line) is failing. The first time this happened was less than a year after purchasing the bar. This time it was less than 2 years after replacing it new.
    The first time, I noticed an elongation of the loop at the top of the tube so I was able to replace it before a complete failure. The line had actually failed inside the tube but the trim line above the cleat was still holding onto one side of the depower line top loop, but had started slipping, making the line longer.
    Second time, no warning, it just failed on a very light wind day. I was lucky to be near shore but not too close that day, it could have turned disastrous.
    What can I do about this? Is there a replacement schedule for the depower line? Is there a part update that addressed this issue?
    Thanks

    does the landing line ever stretch? i noticed that after using it for a while part (6cm) of my landing line hangs below the quick release.

    • @zscap
      @zscap Před rokem +1

      Probably the elastic line inside the landing line is broken

  • @glasstraxx

    How do you add extra line to the back lines? i had to use small pig tails as i ran out of length on the back lines.

    • @glasstraxx
      @glasstraxx Před 2 lety

      @@North_Kiteboarding i will try stretching them as i am already on the longest setting. need about 7cm...using a small pig tail at the moment to get the extra length.

    As great as these DIY videos are, they kind of make me doubt the equipments durability. I’m sure thats not the point, butI have never had to change anything on my 6 year old North Trustbars. Im just being honest. It kind of make it look like this is something that needs to be done at some point. And trusting your equipment is the most important thing for many if not most kitesurfers. Otherwise these videos are really good 👍. I’m just saying it could make new kiters doubt if this is something they should expect to break.

      Hey,
      Thank you for reaching out. Great to hear you like our video, thanks for your support.
      We totally agree. Trusting your equipment is very important as a rider. However, sometimes accidents do happen and gear can be mistreated and become worn out. Because of this would just like to keep our riders safe and informed.
      Catch you on the water soon,
      North
