I don't know what they mean by the end of Dark Canyon and it's been a few years but in the late eighties a very good friend of mine that I worked for used to live in the very last cabin in the canyon where the road stopped. I stayed there several times and it was the only dwelling in the canyon that wasn't wiped out by the flood of 1972, or so I was told. I absolutely loved the spot and there was a perfect naturally formed pool in front of the cabin and that was wonderful on a hot summers day!
I remember a viet nam vet that lived off the land out there in the canyon and you never knew when he might be around watching you. I stayed a number of times at the last place out there where the road ended in the late eighties, it was the only place in the canyon that survived the 72 flood
I lived in Rapid City many years ago. Dark Canyon was a wonderful secluded place to go to. Now, I guess, it''s getting ruined by development. GREEDY DEVELOPERS AND REALTORS!!!
Good luck getting to it anytime there's snow
High water no escape on the corner, deep in canyon...

I'm surprised they let people build in Dark Canyon after everything was destroyed in the June flood in 72.

Lushly carpeted stairs? Sometimes, less is more.
What is the flooding risk of the 8325 Dark Canyon property? Does the creek overflow? Can you get food insurance?
