Interesting thing I noticed-- the buffs don't seem to go away after combat ends, they stay into the next encounter. The text says "buffs refresh"-- the buffs appear to reload themselves to full duration, and then begin to tick down once more when the next combat encounter begins. So Chameleon actually seems to work even better than you'd think!

Awesome weapon and yes very situational because of the buildup to get Adaptive to fill up. Fun when stacking with Obliterate and Momento trophies or 4pc Striker. Cosmetically it’s an awesome weapon since it changes colors with the environment and big props to KRISS USA for collabing with Massive on creating a Vector AR.
I did not know that about the Heroic Bounties and the Snitch - that alone was totally worth this upload. Much obliged Mr Kami - hope all is well with you and the little one.
I've tried the crusader shield and the artificer hive it works pretty well plus it basically has 4 armor cores, 4 WD cores, and 3 Skill tiers 👌
I got lucky when I went to farm my first Cham. First Hyena Bounty on Challenging that day it dropped. Which I have to say was bitter sweet as it took me nearly 30 runs of the DCD to get a Sweet Dreams to drop.

This is the fastest way to get Chameleon. But it gets annoying when you get only Chameleon from bounties but not other exotics. I got 4 Chameleons in a raw when doing 10 heroic bounties with 4 directives active.
How do you get heroic bounties?
My world is set to heroic but the bounties themselves are anything but.
@@mrazbyte3150 Hostage rescues when the world is heroic. Bounties you get will be of heroic. If you are doing public executions then you have to save both hostages to get the bounty.

if you are in combat you have the 3 buffs on chameleon active and then you are out of combat they are not disappearing you still have those buffs refreshed and ready to use again in combat until those 45s end, and if on the next combat you again kill all the enemies less than 45s you still have them refreshed
countdown on challenging has great exotic drop rates, too. Last week i got two in a single match

Great video. The worst thing about bounties for me is actually finding the target.
The worst for me is doing a bounty running a skill build and the enemies bum rush you with shotguns 😅
since when does the buff go away out of combat? It stays on out of combat :o It even resets its duration. It will last for 45 seconds (each buff individually) in combat, but once you leave combat, all the buffs get "saved" and will restart for another 45 seconds when reentering combat.
The buffs go away when switching weapons and when entering safe areas. It can carry over when fasttraveling or in the summit, but that behaves weird, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt.
For me, the buffs never go away out of combat, thats the whole point of the gun for me lol
The Chameleons biggest weakness is accuracy and ammo capacity (only in the summit with directives or on heroic/legendary).
There is a good argument to be made to run the gun with "Braced" on the chest piece. that will cost you damage, but it enables longer range fights from cover. The alternative is to reduce the engagement distance.
Its a great gun and with 3 buffs it destroys anything, but its lacking in fights over more then 15-20 meters if you do not have a decent ammount of weapon handling/accuracy. Since this build is already over the cap for crit chance, maybe roll mask or chest to CHD+Handling, I havent tried that but it could be good. Also, if you do not have contractors gloves, just run a fenris.

I had Chameleon drop in the weekly resource donation quest, I've never gotten an exotic to drop in a bounty, I play solo on challenging.
Try the Chameleon on a Striker build (if U haven't already). Mine is 4pc., Fenris chest (obliterate), & Memento. 1.5M armor. It melts...it's awesome!!! Also, I get too many Chameleons. They drop like crazy. I currently have 10. Might break them down for the exotic component.
I run something similar. Works well with striker
And if you take 39% protection from elites with a shield at rank 5 and the reviver hive, legendary missions will become easy.

How would you vary this build for countdown?
Chameleon wasn't ever an issue for me after I got Division 2 on pc. Probably had 20ish drop... now momento took about 2 months of hard farming 4-6hrs daily to finally get. Lol, as usual momento finally dropped right after I stopped hard core farming it
Unrelated question how do you make your damage numbers show right in the screen like that?

So i've only been playing Div2 for about 6 weeks so my game knowledge is minimal. I've only played PVE. Watch level 97. I collected Foundry Bulwark it's the first set I decided to try. Have they broke or stealth nerfed FB in the past 24 hours? Last night I was tanky soloing challenging for the first time tonight hard is destroying my armor! I'm using 4 pieces head, chest, back and gloves.
Does the game have to be on heroic if i want the chameleon ?
How do I restart the same bounty over and over again?
I try picaro's holster, momento and the rest strikers. Pretty solid heater with all that extra damage.
For most PVE I run the same. In CD I run vigilance instead of momento
@@cclark2021 I actually get more use out of momento then vigilance, especially when running and gunning. You should try unstoppable force or maybe even companion (only if you use a healer drone).

How do i get the memento backpack ?
Maybe I missed a few episodes but I was left with the fact that they would correct the brazos holster by adding the third red core. Has something changed? And if they will, why is it taking so long?

My opinion, the Chameleon Assault Rifle ( AR ) is an underwhelming exotic and needs a ten percent buff to base weapon damage to be considered a viable exotic AR
I've tested the Chameleon AR which has the range of an smg with extra range mod installed if there were such a creature, and I've come to the conclusion that the Chameleon AR is really only viable or that it is only an advantage to use over certain other assault rifles or smgs in the game, is with the Foundry Bulwark build, and that's really about it, it might be ok with striker build.
Why is no one talking about the Lefty. Shouldn't the Lefty be an ACS-12? Also we unlocked the ACS-12 as a season reward but only got a second Six-12 on the crafting bench. Now there are 2 Six-12's instead of the ACS-12 blueprint.

Bro. Ugh!! So tired of seeing builds that the entire thing is facilitated around the Memento backpack. It just won't drop for me. What would be a better sub for the memento instead? As I can't really build this without it. ?? Thanks in advance for your response. Keep up the great work

Huh, how did you get the Chameleon to hold 60 rounds?.. So far al i found is 50 round version s. Does it roll 🤔 ext mag?
3rd perk of brazos gearset
I've been using a 4 piece striker with coyotes mask and fenris chest with obliterate with a god roll chameleon I get a solid 6.7 mill DSP in the training room
(Edit) if I get full stacks on the chameleon and I'm close range 1.3 mill damage per a shot

why id 8 percent armor better that the 10 percent rifle, AR, smg, etc damage?
Someone more knowledgeable than me can probably explain it better, just returning to the game myself, but some damage categories are multiplicative whereas others are additive. The couple of of them which are multiplicative are on items which are considered best in slot, those include 2 of the pieces he is wearing, contractor's gloves and Fox's prayer knee pads. DMG to targets out of cover (Fox's prayer) and DMG to armor (Contractor's gloves) are multiplicative, therefore multiplying stats instead of adding them. They are considered for dps the most bang for your buck. Hope that helps

Why is chameleon situational?
How to get it? ALL I get from game Exotic drops and loot chests are freaking Chameleon and Acosta bags. I've already got a god rolled so now I just dismantle them to upgrade the better exotics. In my last 30 boxes I have had only 1 momento and a cartharsis drop everything else chameleon and Acosta. It's driving me nuts.
This is not a Chameleon build, it is not the center of it. It would easily work with Kingbreaker/Spotter or some Lady Death combo, as the torso talent is free to choose.
The center of the build is 10 Core attributes plus three best in slot (backpack, gloves, knees).
You could even get another yellow one with the right pistol, buffing your defenses even more. Another option is to go for 3 blue/3red/5 yellow and build a hard hitting tech hybrid (if this can still be called hybrid) with Capacitator.
that skill tier pistol only works when you have the pistol in your hand sadly

You see you have 3 red core attributes, they are from the Memento, the gloves and kneepad.
As you can see is you do not get the 15% weapon damage on the holster as core attribute.
its hit and miss, one run i did i got 4 exotics in 3 heroic bounty runs, then sometimes i just don't see them for a while. 🤷♂
Returning player. I just hate how much loot you get. loot management is almost impossible. The amount of times I have salvaged good gear because of confusion.
Then I never know what's good or what's better, then there is the whole optimization stuff... I just want to play without having to chase gear all the time.
ps and PC is not the samm your 1.6m armor stands to around 500x more dmg then what PC can on Hero on PC whit 900K armor you take 3 hits and your armor is gone

Can this be done on challenging or only heroic?
You are killing me with your gun slot selection. You really need to try the 45 vector with 21% crit chance in your first slot. Then whatever gun you like in your second slot. Then you can Max out your crit damage on your gear.
Especially with your knowledge and builds in the game. 20 points extra crit damage will make your gear even more amazing.
