Jorge Fernandez The whole meaning about it is that people will try fix and help disadvantaged people across the world and won’t bat an eyelid to the kids in places like Chicago and California who are In poverty and being exposed to gun violence as they are most likely bound to fall as a victim to society.
It’s not really the same though.
African countries need schools, hospitals, housing to stop the massive camp propagation, they need polices to arrest the gangs and military organizations, etc...
In America you guys have all of that. It’s just poverty, best believe that type of poverty exists everywhere.
What these places need is simply a better mentality. If you don’t have money, work twice harder to not be in debt. If there are gangs in the area, take care of your business instead of provoking and let the authority handle the job.
I’ve grow up in the most toxic environnement, the city ranked 1st in my entire country for poverty, addiction and criminality.
Yet qi’ve never had to do anything illegal, not even stealing a candy from a grocery store. I worked, and I moved out.
Be smarter than that.

Many African governments are corrupt which lead to many inequalities among the people in terms of wealth which is seen in places like Democratic republic of Congo and Somalia. There are also wars going on where rebels are trying to overthrow the corrupt government leading to more deaths and destruction forcing people out of their homes and into poverty. It’s not that’s simple just to say that they need hospitals and schools even though they are scare in these countries. I’m a child of African immigrants and I truly want the best for Africa believe me. However it’s ever too often that we want to
Send money to unicef when we really should be looking around us also and trying to better those around us as there are lives being wasted daily due to children making bad decisions and it’s not only the child who dies who’s having a wasted life it’s those who are committing the crime also as incarceration rates in the US are ridiculous.
And just because you are able to make you’re way out of a tough situation in a poor place by no circumstance does that mean that everyone else should be able to as it is statistically proven that the majority of people living in poverty will not break the poverty circle. As there are racial inequalities which are also factors to consider however I don’t think you’re ready for that conversation yet.

If you’ve actually been to Africa, not the Africa you see on TV where everything looks like a desert and kids are starving, but the other parts Africa where people aren’t starving and have access to the things we enjoy in America. Africa is a huge continent, just because you see one part of Africa lacking resources doesn’t mean all the other countries are in the same state.

Do NOT assume that low income kids in government housing living in the states is equivalent to kids in Africa or vice versa. That is a mistake, a HUGE mistake. There are kids, ppl, human beings that are living to or equivalent to low income housing ALL over the WORLD. NOT just here in the states nor just in Africa. Him being white and somewhat of a missionary to these wonderful kids in compton, he probably can draw a comparison to white missionaries in Africa. But there is no comparison, outside them being black. 2) Kids in Africa, who are in dire need of supplies are REALLY in need of supplies. They do NOT have access to Free government healthcare or ANY healthcare for that matter...and the list goes on.
