Generally, Humidifiers are used to create moisture in the atmosphere so as to have ourselves protected from dry skin, dry lips, etc. Did we know that the Humidifiers help in easing breathing for babies?
If you are in a location which has low humidity (dry place), your baby would struggle to breath due to lack of moisture in the air and when you have AC turned on, it makes it worse for the baby. Consider buying a Humidifier if you are in a dry location and have a new baby with you.
I have covered Black+Decker Humidifier which is more economical for the value it provides, 3L tank is good enough to run for 12hours in full mist speed, B+D being a good and reliable brand, I bought this product and made this demonstration video.

Hello, the product works fine, however, this doesn't have the hygrometer to know the room humidity level. I would suggest you buy one with it. Like the MI brand is having one.

Tap water is fine ... clean the water tank every week as it could accumulate dust

Yes when you have dry weather and have your AC running, it’s better to run humidifier overnight for good moisture in the room.
