What is even more fascinating is that in the rural area whose livelihood is livestock, put milk in containers to be sold in the main markets, the containers are collected and later in the day empty containers are returned with money in it on the side street for owners to collect it, no one touches it, even though the country is poor, no one touches it besides the owners.

We don't ever extend out left hands for a handshake (that's why those uncles were so confused when you extended your left hand), and this is something that is rooted in our Islamic faith.

Hi Phil. I’ve been enjoying your vids. On this one, I kept wondering why it’s so safe. It seems social trust is very high but what are the causes? Draconian punishments for even the smallest infractions? Everyone knows everyone? Hidden mechanisms that make theft unlikely to be successful?
What industry drives all that cash, btw? I assume there are no banks, no connectivity to SWIFT etc. But human nature is human nature so I’m really curious about the alignment of incentives around this economy.

There has been huge inflation in recent years making it more and more difficult to carry cash, so many of these money changers are unfortunately losing business to mobile payments.
