I'm really proud of this not only for how well it came out, but for how many new things I learned trying to make this. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Honestly? I think this is probably the best way to preserve the style of the original music video but making it animated. The wooden puppet style wouldn't translate well to animation, but the paper cutouts keep the idea of it being like a show being put on. It almost reminds me of the Paper Mario style actually

firstly id like to say (as i always do when i watch AMV's) i love when people just have fun animating there ocs to a song i like its always so cute
and secondly i like the angle that you made it sound like he was kinda like singing under duress its something i had never thought of that before and its a cool interperataiion

If you've seen the official music video, you know it ends with the government official being assassinated right? and how throughout the video it was foreshadowing his demise. The song is ideologically based in the ruling of oneself without interference from government - which is said to be the "true way" of living life - that people living afar don't know the best way for you to live, and that they're all puppets.
I really adore this dude, the characters are really cool, and your artstyle is unique, I also like the paper puppet look!!
And I love how at first it's so happy and joy ful but at the end it just becomes so dark and sad like there trying to tell us that a happy story doesn't always end happy

Actually maybe a better description would be that the point of view of the singer is that they’re technically pandering to an audience, but the message that comes with the song actually means a lot to them
im not sure what this particular animatic is about, but ive heard that the song is about politics and how frequently leaders get assassinated
I personally, have heard, and agree that the song is about a political figure telling you to dictate your own life. And that essentially, in your lifetime, no-one’s better than you, as people start laughing. But as always, people disagree and the political figure is assassinated anyways.
I though it was about some person talking about a narcissist in a sacarstic way, not sure about it tho
