No country is keeping the flame of rock burning brightly quite like Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass/bad-ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world. Women in metal in Japan is a tradition that goes back to the 1980s and Show-Ya.

The name of this insane band actually refers to a blue flower. The Latin name of that is Nemophila.
Man Nemophila is quickly climbing my list of bands since I found them about a year ago. Just love their sound and talent. May has a great voice but man you cannot say she takes screaming to a higher level then Tatiana of Jinjer.

New band, less than two years old, and they are tearing it up. They were all with other bands, but except for Saki, they didn't quite break through--until they all got together, and it's going nuclear.
Yeah Mayu is the real deal, I absolutely love voice.

This a fantastic new band about 18 month old there going from strength to strength your going to love every thing they do and there covers are cool as F..k as well there all supremely talented with good songs and can go from very sweet to rip your head of heavy heavy sound whilst smiling and laughing with each other.

Don't know who started off the screaming for girls. The first female screamer I know about is Sabina Classen from the band Holy Moses.

I cannot stop playing this song. Its so beautifully punishing. If you like female fronted melodic death metal check out Lutharo. The album is Wings of Agony and they have a couple of vids from the album. Highly recommended.

Nemophila may not be on a technical level like Lovebites, but she is a much more modern metal band and much more fun and I like her more. The only band that is more fun but in the hard rock genre is Band Maid. Japanese girls are revitalizing and renewing the world rock and metal scene, and that is much more important than it is thought.
I think saki, hazuki and midori, miyako are the great guitarist, saki is even better, her live performance is too stable
Do not agree on that technical comment and I am a huge Lovebites fan.

I gonna tell a short story. Before i found this band I didn't care about heavy music with screaming and growling. Then I stumble over this song... Now I'm totally hooked by Nemophila and this kind of music. For some months ago (thanks to this group) I found another amazing group - Orbit Culture. They are good! I saw you love Metallica. If you love old Metallica, then you gonna love Orbit Culture. Orbit Culture is a Swedish band who play melodic death metal. They don't deny they are influenced by the old masters but do in their own style. They do it better imo... đ€
You know they're good if they can make Nickleback sound great.
These 5 young ladies are more heavier than a 9 member grown old man group Slipknot,honestly.
