What video do you guys want to see for 200K? Hopefully I did not just jinx that.
You reversed the jinx, by talking about the jinx - you're good :) Keep it up! You're a great guy Magnus! Best thing Tom and Juji did was get you on their channel. Love you being you - keep it up!
Your story how did you start with climbing? or is there a vid of that?
Climbing 200 boulders this time! Hahah jk
200 boulders
Magnus Midtbø 200 boulder problems 😂😉.
you should start a series where you train an inexperienced climber over a period of like 6 months and show the progression kind of like how juji trained tom. I think it would be cool seeing how you would train/teach someone and then viewers can follow along and show you their progress
Chris Beatty he tried with his brother already
He also had Cecilie Skog training for a 7a project, not beginner but great to see the commitment and grit from her to keep trying hard
I would love to see that, too!
I completely agree. I know that he's done some training in the past but it's something that would be cool to watch again now that he has more resources and people to enjoy it. The videos are great either way, but it is certainly a good idea.
Please do this
Climb off between magnus and juji but tie helium balloons to juji to make him 160
jarrett p that’s actually a super interesting idea
@@mossoconnor4417 Need to be a massive balloon haha
@@RoxusRemo Don't think any gym could fit the zeppelin needed to lift Juji.
Or just top rope and find a way to hang some weight or set an autobelay heavy.
@@mossoconnor4417 ehm i really hope u weren't serious when u wrote that
Simon is actually not bad at all for his first time climbing. Technique and reading holds seems to come quite natural! Well done Simon!
Apart from better technique I think there are two reasons 105kg Magnus climbed better than bodyweight Simon. First, I reckon Magnus is still stronger in terms of finger strength. Who could hang longer on a 20mm edge? My money's on 105kg Magnus. Second I think is the ability to push yourself. I felt like Magnus was working harder.
On an unrelated note, Magnus's high pull-ups make me feel sick. When I do a high pull-up I get to my nipples on a good day; he went straight to his waist. Ooft.
Magnus "I try really hard" Midtbo
I can barely do 1 pull up lol, I'm working on it though
This was so much fun! 6C I’m coming for you. And then we need to do a new challenge Magnus ;)
Hvis du har tid og vil buldre på Island, så kan jeg vise deg det lokale buldrehuset. Lite men gøy!
You did rly well !
Didnt expect you to crush the 5's that easily. Must be either a hidden boulder area in your basement or just the nordic gene pool. Keep it up. The road from 6a to 6c might be important for most people that are watching. i hope you and magnus can share some hints on foot positioning and beta reading then :)
Hi Simon!! Nice to see the man behind the camera! Really enjoying your edit, you are such a great addition to this channel :) Look forward to seeing you climb more :)
You did pretty dang well for not being a climber! With that heel hook you were doing, try to put a little more weight over your foot next time! If you can create a force that's a little more normal (perpendicular) to the hold it should stick much better! Great job!
Yeeees, finally a new Magnus Video. I thought you died from the leg workout with juji😉
Hahah just almost
Hey Magnus, thanks to you my girlfriend and I have a shared hobby! We've been bouldering 2-3 times a week for the last month. Thank you.
How's the bouldering been going?
Im on Oslo this weekend and I would love to go climbing to this gym. If anyone climbs, wants to join me or already climbs there... Here I am!
Magnus thank you for making our hands sweat in every video!
Magnus you hooked me... I go for my 1st boulder session next weekend... bro you simply inspire people and cheer them up. Thank you!
He hooked me too. Started climbing january 28th, got in 4 sessions, then sprained my ankle on the fourth, 2 weeks little over 2 weeks now, still cant climb.... But my hangboard arrived yesterday, so i got that going for me.
@@joneriksen9257 i think you should wait to get a hangboard for at least a year
@@joneriksen9257Please be really careful with this. You should in general climb for a year before you start hangboard training. Doing hangboards to early is the best way to really mess up your fingers.
Someone Wierd I’ve been climbing for 2 and a half years, broke my ankle after a year and 3 months, sprained every ligament in my foot September 25 2018. When I was watching this video I was cringing hoping he wouldn’t fall with all that weight
bruh, saw your channel. If you love rocket jumping, you're gonna love this. Or, I meant climbing actually reminds me of going through jump maps a lot, and I love both.
I came here from juji after your first collab... I'm not a climber, but I appreciate the talent on display here. You make great videos and are an insane athlete, keep it up!
Same here
Same

Brooo I'm from Mexico, and you just make me start climbing.
My fingers and forearms are killing me hahahahah
Keep doing great job
hola we
Don’t try this at home
I wish I had a climbing wall in my house..
Found you through juji, subbed because of magnus
GREAT content i’m overweight and I love to climb. It was eye opening to see how important being in shape is to making climbing that much easier. Of course technique being most important.
Recovering from a Myocardial infarction, I find this channel inspiring - giving me the motivation to get down to a suitable weight, and build strength. I'll take my time, and in a couple of years hopefully be able to start learning to climb.
31 min, Magnus?! Come on! Do you want me to get fired?
i Guess, so you can watch more of them haha
I would prefer 1 hour of magnus every day.
my kids and i started climbing because of you. its pretty addicting! learned about you from your first trip to the USA
Congratulations on all the new subs! That's so amazing!
Hard work always pays! Keep it up!!
I literally can't wait for next weekend's collab 😍
200k challenge: Birdbox (blindfolded) climbing completion. You’re partner has to verbally tell you where to move and what holds to grab!
you’ve probably already seen the video but he did that with his gf
Thanks for putting the v-grades in! A lot of Europeans forget that we have different systems. (and Americans forget to put in the font grades as well)
many people also forget to learn the conversion
Ray Cathode this is true but i learned it at one point. the issue is that it is easily forgotten if you don’t constantly have to make the conversion which i only have to do when i’m watching videos like this
In my gym there at no grades there only 5 different colours (white, yellow, green, blue and red)
No dumb questions eh? Right, hold my beer....
Magnus, what haircut would you recommend for newbie climbers?
This one's simple, doesn't matter, beanie required
His haircut obviously :p. How else do you think he got so good?
@@ryanpujol5766 As long as it's a Scarpa beanie. Guaranteed to send the pink one in the corner.
Also, hair is aid.
Definitely a mullet! Keeps the hair out of your eyes and your neck warm on those cold cliffs! ;-)
Shave your head. Hair is only extra weight
So thankful that Juji’s video popped up in my feed months ago, I discovered you and juji and Tom. Love all your videos, you’re such a chill guy, it’s great watching everything you luv post
Non-climber and new subscriber here but I am addicted. Love the grace, power, athleticism, and imagination in your climbing and in those of others on your channel. I am super super unfit but am now really tempted to get off the couch and at least try a V0. Actually booked a session for 3 weeks from now since because of COVID the slots are gone way in advance. Looking forward to trying. Thanks for the great content!
did you climb that V0?
This is actually good technique tutorial. Seeing beginner doing beginner stuff then pro on the same boulder. Easy way to detect my own flaws and work on them. Great video as always, thanks boys!
Is it me or does Magnus look more shredded now? All that Juji time turned you into a beast, Magnus! And yay for new subscribers!!
I agree, his arms look huge at the moment.
Dem Juji Gains.
Its the waffles
Think he’s just aware of that natty light now haha thank Tom and John for that 😂
Probably a little swollen and sore 😂
105kg crew! Shout out!
Awesome video! Simon has a really positive influence on the vlogs and a clear aptitude to climbing. It's very nice to see your channel grow, you definitely deserve it
Found you from Juji and it looked like so much fun I subscribed and also have signed up at my local indoor rock climbing gym for an intro class in two weeks. Can’t wait! Thanks so much Magnus! :o)
👍
How odes it went?
After watching your videos I've now been to the rockwall 3 times. Cant thank you enough for the push
Just want to say that your videos have inspired me to go and try climbing. I've been bouldering this evening in Goteborg for the first time and loved it. I can't wait to go again! Thanks for the inspiration.
This needs to be a series or a segment! Such good climbing and material for learning :). Simon showing off that camera operator strength!!!
Ive started climbing again after a over a year out because of your videos Magnus, Truly grateful for all the effort you put into inspiring us non-climbers into giving it a go, or starting again in my case :D
Magnus with Jujihair XDDD... Boldering bobat next week !? :O my 2 fav climbing channels together !
That was an awesome vlog! Great edit and really cool content. Cant wait for bouldering bobat!
I’ve been climbing for a while before I found you, or any climbing CZcamsrs. I have really improved even in the last few weeks because of you.
Thanks a lot keep it up
Found juji because of you subbed to juji! :)
Same! Now I’m addicted to Juji videos too. But nothing beats a new video from Magnus! They are always great motivation
James Wong me 2
Yeah same
I'm a beginning American climber, and I'm visiting your beautiful country this coming summer! I'm hoping I have a chance to visit your gym and also to climb outdoors in Norway. Thanks for all the work you put into your videos! I love watching your climbing!
Omg I was thinking the same thing 😂. Canadian beginner climber here. Hope to climb that gym and steal some beta from magnus himself lol.
Went to the gym last september. Totally awesome, big, well lit, a great array of routes. Just an awesome place. Saw Magnus but was to star struck to speak to him!
200k!!!! Congrats magnus you worked hard for this it’s a good milestone
Hey Magnus,
I just started watching your video a couple weeks ago from the beginning and that's me just caught up. Have to say that your channel has been one of the most enjoyable channels that I've came across on CZcams.
I've been wanting to start bouldering for some time now and watching your channel has brought that to the surface again, so thank you for getting me started.
It's been great to see how you videos have changed and improved from you beginning your channel, and it's been great to watch and enjoy them with everyone.
Keep the videos coming and keep watching them ;)
P.S. Congrats on the 200k subscribers!
Man your an inspiration,
Even though both my shoulders are dislocated your dedication inspired me to try rock climbing. Turns out it's working really well to build up strength in my back(along with regular rotator cuff exercises)
You may not think it, but your videos have an effect on the world. Thank you,
Sincerely James from Ireland
Gratz on new subs man I am one of them and have been watching like crazy. Super fun stuff not a rock climer and still really emjoying your content.
Magnus, congrats on all the growth of your channel! Your content is so good-well deserved. But also, please don't hurt yourself with these challenges. We want to keep watching you humbly crush everything!
I am very thankful for you starting to explain more due to new received audience members but it's still great to see you climb. I'm happy that I could be lucky enough to find your channel, and will start climbing more and learning way more now. You're a huge influence and people say I look like you which is funny but I know you accomplish great feats and it's amazing to see you work.
There is a big difference in grip strength that added weight does not fully translate to. Doing strict pullups does not take into consideration Magnus's years of conditioning on his tendons in his fingers, and his grip endurance which isn't as much strength based.
Yes, of course this was never intended to be some super scientifically accurate study or something.
There's always a point where added weight will make your grip give up sooner.
I'm new! Not a climber and really dont believe I'll ever be one, but, your content is absolutely awesome man! I'm in awe seeing how you can move around these wall courses like it's natural! Thank you for posting your content for us to watch!
Never say never!
I’m so happy to have found your channel. First off your music choices are awesome second your effort and work is very much appreciated. Thank you for all the tips. As a new climber they are very helpful. Would be awesome to climb with you and learn from you. Simon is lucky to have one of the best climbers ever teach him. Thanks again magnus you rock man
I love watching you climb. I found you right before the Juji videos (the most recent ones) and i love the work you put into them! Im not a climber, im terrified of heights and not built for it, but i love living through these videos. The video of you and Sasha in Jordan is my favorite! Love watching you climb big walls! Keep up the great work and dont hesitate to make shorter videos if its easier on you guys!
Juji/Tom style title, loving it 🔥
Been waiting all week for this keep killing the videos magnus!!
You deserve all your new subscribers!
You are a crazy athlete and your videos are of crazy high quality.
Keep collaborating with other CZcamsrs, show the kids out there that sport /= weightlifting (:
Magnus I love your videos! You really are such a great person in your videos and care so much about the people watching. You’re the only channel I have the notifications on for because everyone who watches your videos can tell that you hold yourself to such a high standard with editing and content. We are excited for you to reach the milestone of 200k subs!
You are adding weights like Goku!
Are you going to get Juji, Tom and Issac out to your gym?
Its alot easier to fly 1 person than 2 or 3 but that would be cool
Haven't they gone already or was that a different gym?
Rubenbanana Magnus flew out to the US to visit Juji and Tom
His gym is in Norway
Love how Simon vlogs are consistent with the quality. Sssuuuuuper keen for next week!!!
My favorite episode so far and I've been subbed for a year or more. I like seeing new climbers as well as pros.
I am older and I would say "Adults especially don't try this at home because your body is more likely to break".
@oatsman I think you are expecting too much of what the stage of adulthood brings! ;)
Loved this Vlog, more light-hearted tone mioxes things up and keeps it fresh. Looking forward to the Bobat vlog!
So you're "over 200k" now… Congratulations!!! When I think how much work you put in producing your videos, you've really deserved such an audience :)
I'm not a climber but I absolutely love all your stuff man. The time and effort you put into all your stuff is incredible. You are also one of the greatest climbers I've ever seen. So cool to see how good you are man.
Hi from Brazil! Started climbing frequently this month! And your videos inspire me!
You aren't giving yourself enough credit bud. Sure we found you because of juju and tom but we stuck around because you are awesome. I weigh 238 so this video is awesome lol. Im mainly a hiker/explorer but i do a tiny bit of climbing sometimes to get where i want to be and damn it makes me sore for days. Makes me sore im places ive never felt sore, especially my ankles!
keep it up. Going to Vegas got me into this. My first time there I saw the mountains and wanted to explore and had no idea that there was so much more than the strip. The hiking/climbing community is usually great and friendly. A couple years ago we me this hiking group in Vegas so before our last trip I said I have to get some training in to hang with these guys as they go out all the time. So I looked for a climbing gym and was hooked. Back in 2008 I gained 30+ lbs in 1 year. Then a little more after that bringing me from the 175-180 to 213-218 (that was when I started road construction doing double shifts and night shifts and my dad got cancer, not a good time). Now I have been trying to get it off and I am hovering around 208-209. This is great exercise and fun! I am not really fat but I can lean up. It is definitely harder to climb with all this weight and I don't really boulder as I am almost 41 and the impact on landing is not good for the joints. I recently had and still have a wrist injury but that was actually a good thing. It forced me to really focus on my technique and while injured I made some real progress.
@@jlweck231978 Try top roping it might be easier on your joints because you wont land hard
@@joshr5151 that's what I do because bouldering can be rough on my joints. I top rope and do Lead climbing also.
I 236 went for the first time on Monday now it’s Saturday and my forearms are still on fire
Dude, you're humble and awesome. Keep inspiring by character
So excited to see your colab with bobats !!! So nice to see how far your channel has come.
Magnus said dont try this at home so im going to the gym now
I have three words for you, Simon:
Hips don't lie!
Yep. Figured someone would have got to it first.
Simon seems to be reasonably tall so it can be hard, but super important to keep those hips in towards the wall.
That's not the only thing. Biggest difference I saw is that Simon took much more time and re-adjusted often because he's not familiar with the feel of holds and doesn't know the limit of his grip. He's not sure how hard he can pull before his fingers slip off different holds. So he doesn't look fluid, right? I wonder if Magnus climbed more slowly to match Simon's pace, would he tire quicker?
Also, of course, beside strength, Magnus has endurance that Simon doesn't have. It's not just strength-to-weight ratio.
So fun to watch man! You have a rly friendly personality Magnus. This kind of goofing around is best for vlogs. Cheers
0:45 I found you through those guys and still watch your stuff. Keep it up! Hälsningar från Sverige ;)
Magnus, I think it would be great in your videos with Simon if you showed the techniques involved in progression through the grades that help Simon solve problems. For instance... I am a heavier climber, about 190 pounds, so in that red 6A+(V3) I would have put my left foot where he had his right foot and I would have flagged my right foot out against the wall in order to get my weight underneath the hold I am going for.
Whatever the correct solution you find for Simon, it will help beginner climber in exploring techniques to help solve their own problems.
Thanks Magnus, for the powerful and cheerful videos
Dude, your channel has been growing like nuts!! Keep it up 😃
His arms have been growing along with the channel when he comes to visit Tom and Juji.
Hey Magnus, I subscribed after seeing you on Jujis Channel. Watching you climb is really incredible. Keep up the great content. I've been debating trying climbing and after seeing your videos I'm going to try. Your video have taught me quite a bit and I haven't watched all that many yet. Much Love from Canada Dude!
19:13 Magnus is getting pumped xD
23:00 reminds me of the scene where rock lee drops his weights :D
YEEEES! Bouldering Bobat and hotsauce. I'm so hyped.
Rock Lee? You mean Goku in the Martial Arts Tournament! Magnus went from beginner boulders straight to campusing around ;)
Keep the effort up Simon! You have a great person to help you. Magnus you are an inspiration.
Love the video today!!! Really awesome idea!!! And I'm psyched for the collab with the bobat boys
loved the elevator matte edit with audio match and interior exterior shift
Ive been climbing in the past weeks , only cause of you. So great thanks for that and I hope i keep doing it. ( question of time )
I am a climber in Texas. Thank you for inspiring me to push my abilities, your channel is great :)
I really like the perspective of a new climber as I am getting into exercise and climbing. Really like your editing as well Simon, keep it up with the tips and up close explanations and examples
Absolutely love this channel. The comparison between climbers and non climbers is always great to watch. I think this is one of your best vlogs yet.
Ayyyyy bring on the bobats!!
I personally subsriced to you through Juji and at that time (a week or so ago) I wasn't even sure will I sub to Juji. I knew Juji form 10 years ago when I first started tricking and was surprised to see that he has quite the social media following. From his videos I found you and noticed how fascinated I was from your skills, personality and strenght and here I am. All good to you and such! I'm still not sure do you live in Norway or in the states? Anyway, you do you. Regards, a neighbouring Finn. PS. typed this before I saw the video.
Wow psyched for you to climb with Bouldering Bobat!
Well, this vlog is nice with all it's goofing around as you mentioned!
I found you because I tried bouldering recently with my friends and I wanted to see more about it on CZcams and I found a huge platform here! Just incredible! Subbed to Juji because of you and your vids are insanely amazing!
AND I think I know who your guests are.. Bouldering Bobat are great! Can't wait to see you all!!
Magnus you just have an awesome inspiring personality, keep it up🤙🏼
I used to climb a couple of years ago and I want to get back in to it because of you
That's the power of the Magnus ...
Started climbing a few months ago and some friends of friends were new and making a lot more progress than me. Thanks for demonstrating the difficulties for those who weigh 100kg+ Still pushing hard and progressing.
Jesus I haven't watched your videos in a while and MAN you've really grown!! Juji and Tom really buffed you up Magnus!
And hey, always a pleasure looking at your videos. You are such a humble and cool guy and really produce some entertaining episodes here on CZcams.
Cheers from Sweden!
Non climber check-in. 👍
Congrats to 200k subs ;)
Holy crap! I had to check it. yesterday it was at 199 now 200! Awesome! Conrgats Magnus you deserve it!
I started watching your videos quite early on when you first started making vlogs, and since I'm a climber I already knew about you and saw other videos many years ago. However, when I saw you on Juji's channel, which I started watching years ago completely unrelated to yours, I was super surprised to see you on their channel! I actually knew Juji back from the Tricks Tutorials days when I was practicing free running full time, to learn flips, and started climbing a few years later, so it was such a pleasant surprise seeing you both together. Just thought I'd mention this, since you're interested in understanding your viewer demographics. Oh and I'm from Sheffield, UK. You should come down to the Climbing Works if you're ever in the UK! Keep it up man, such awesome content!
You inspired me to start climbing, I’m nearly a month in! Keep up the great vids
"You look like you've touched a few holes in your life."
*huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue*
holds. holDs.
Feels like its much harder for Simon cuz he tries to always pull his weight up even if he could just hang there, so his elbow is always bend instead of being straight at times he could rest
Super cool video. I am amazed how easy and flowy Simon climbs. That will really help him climb difficult in a short amount of time. I think this was also part of his problems today. I think you as a climber Magnus, your body instinctively knows when to stop momentum and utilize the smaller muscles to stay balanced and close to the wall. Also grip and finger strength showed to be an issue. But that was to be expected ofcourse. Still impressive stuff for a first bouldering session. Also good to see how nice and technical the easy boulders in the gym are. Looking forward to the next video already.
I´m neither a climber, nor a weight lifter, but man, your videos together with Juji and Tom are awesome. I have subscribed to both of your channels and watched at least 10 videos each, both are great and you guys are really funny!
Tack från Sverige!
Yes! I was just wondering when Magnus gonna upload a new video
Tfw you already know how it feels to climb at ~100kg bodyweight, FeelsHeavyMan
You seem like a good guy, Magnus, and you have good channel with some good videos. I came from Juji's channel too but I hope you keep doing what you've been doing because you already have a lot of quality content. I couldn't hope to be a climber but watching other people do it is still awesome. It's a whole other kind of athleticism of it's own and watching what skilled climbers like you can do is amazing.
Hey Magnus,
So I was at the climbing gym earlier this week and this guy came up to me and asked me some climbing questions. He said it was his first time and he only came because he watched Juji's video with you! So cool to see you are inspiring non-climbers to climb and that your own channel is increasing in popularity.
Keep up the quality content~
