  • Discover the family fun offered in the 55,000-acre water playground known as Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, with family travel expert Colleen Kelly. To kick off the vacation, Colleen and her kids get an aerial view of the lake, which shows off its unusual snakelike curves. The 1,100 miles of shoreline is perfect for watersports of all kinds, from fishing with a professional fisherman to learning how to wakeboard with a world champion! An old-fashioned paddle wheeler tour and a pirate ship adventure are exciting for grandparents and kids alike.
In addition to all of the lakefront fun, there are family friendly activities on shore, too! Colleen and her girls meet a local family at Blair’s Landing to learn how to make their sweet and unique treats. A visit to Lake of the Ozarks wouldn’t be complete without a tour of the Bridal Cave to learn about the stories that lie beneath the earth. And the learning continues with a leisurely hike through Ha Ha Tonka State Park, where Colleen and her daughters meet a group of families to discover the history of the castle ruins located on the park grounds. It’s a vacation packed with outdoor adventure!

Excellent show piece on the Lake of the Ozarks! Very well done all round! Content, commentary, cinematography, audio, pace, etc. The best I've seen on the Ozarks overall. Colleen Kelly did a great job at being professional while still being real, personal, and on-target. On an unrelated note, it does bother me a bit that her daughters' names are Shea and Donovan... They are a beautiful and obviously Irish family, but those are boys' names.

Good question. I actually raise the funds to produce these shows. It's not easy but they are educational and that's what I want to convey to folks. As for Dad, my husband and the father of our girls, he is yep, working! But he works for a salary and to help pay the mortgage., etc. His salary doesn't go towards the shows as I raise the money through lots of hard work and sponsors. My husband, Greg, gets 2 weeks off a year and joins us on the bigger trips (he went to Scotland and Hawaii and a few others and is in those episodes) to make the most of his time. He now wants to go to the Lake of the Ozarks with us as a family for another vacation! WE do too! We loved it! Thanks so much for watching, Christopher! :) Really appreciate it and the question too! :) LOL

@@kclaptraffic Agreed , I grew up there and we hardly ever locked our doors at night, my dad was police chief in Linn Creek for years and 95% of the crime was bar fights and DWI lol. I live in Tulsa now and if you want to see crime go to north Tulsa, I just finished painting a building up there and I saw a guy walking down the street with a sword and the building I painted had bullet holes where people shot out the camera system ha ha. But it's only pockets of crime, go a few blocks south and it's great all of a sudden, very weird.
