  • In this video I will cover how you can make your own Homemade Carp Fishing Goo/Glug/attractor using ingredients found in the supermarket plus added extras that give it a fantastic Green Glow!!
    I am a big fan of Kiana's Carp Goo (distributed by Korda) and the great products they deliver to the market. This mix is not the same as their mix and doesnt claim to be so (I am not privy to Kiana ingredients). This mix is my inspired take from the goo known worldwide. I hope this will save money in these difficult times but will add something new to your fishing..What better than catching fish on your own baits!?
    The below homemade ingredients are supermarket prices plus Amazon links to give you some options.
    ⭐⭐VIDEO UPDATE - PLEASE NOTE⭐⭐
    Cornflour will potentially clump at the bottom of the bottle if not used shortly after mixing. I would advise you REMOVE the cornflour completely and follow the rest of the instructions. It is by no means essential to include flour and the mix will still be packed with flavour and the green glow!
    To save the maximum amount, please do look online where buying in bulk can really save you a lot!

    ⭐METHOD/UNIT COST⭐
    Glycerine - 100ml = 90p Per Bottle - 3 Bottles Needed
    Flavouring - 15ml (2-3 batches Per Bottle) = £1.35 Per Bottle
    Colouring - 2 Caps Full (Multiple batches Per Bottle) = £1.30 Per Bottle
    Corn Flour - SEE NOTE ABOVE!
    ⭐Added Extras For The Green Glow⭐
    N-Butyric Acid - 1ml (50 batches!) = £6.99 for 50ml (attractor, doesn't make the green glow)
    Fluorescein - 1.5g (12 batches) = £6.69 for 25g
    When purchasing in bigger amounts, in particular the Glycerine you will be able to make your own for very little money.

    *Update As Per description*
    I would advise not using cornflour going forward due to some clumping that can occur at the bottom. I would advise to leave out the cornflour entirely, it is by no means essential and the mix will still ooze flavour and the green glow. Only difference is a slightly different thickness which makes no difference.

    • @andrewsimpson2771
      @andrewsimpson2771 Před 4 lety +1

      Will it still be thick enough without the cornflour ? Or is there something else I should use instead please. Great video though, will you be doing one for making your own boilies too.

    • @Mike33
      @Mike33  Před 4 lety +1

      The thickness for me is a preference thing. On a personal note the important thing is the flavour and green glow so not putting the flour in is totally fine for me and will save me money too!

      Anytime Andrew. It was why i wanted to get a post out today about it having now discovered it, sadly bottles used prior seem to have hidden this :( - Most creators would simply delete any negative comments or hide behind it and play dumb but i wanted to make people aware so they can adjust their mixes to achieve the best possible results.
      Thank you for your continued support!!

      Fantastic Geoffrey, I find it works best in clear waters. Or at least that's where I find liquids and attractors like this and the Kiana Goo works best in my opinion.

      Hi James. Thanks so much for the kind words! - Just to make you aware, having checked one or two batches it seems the cornflour may be settling at the bottom after a few days (previously disguised by different bottles i had used so only just seen). I would be looking to make a batch the night before a session and giving a good shake the next day OR most likely leaving the flour out entirely which is what I plan to do personally. Cornflour not being in will make it slightly runnier but by no means will impede the flavour and of course the green glow which is most important!

    I add vitamins and feed triggers to mine I mix in 5litre batches splitting in half to have the thinner in one bottle and thicker in other .I do add fluorescein but only to my to thicker one . The thinner liquid is used to rehydrate air dried baits & added to pellets .spod mix or method / stick / bag mix .

      MikesCarpingAdventures my thoughts exactly. now in regards to goo, its never gonna be as ‘goo’d (🥁) as there originals, like kodex ectoplasm and sonu baits lava isnt anywhere near as good but we the anglers should defo be able to have ago ourselves and this video and ur advice was a godsend as ur right 11.99 is too much for goo.
      your video has already had more likes then angling directs video on how to make pop ups, with a guy from mainline in it, that they put up months ago. shows the interest.

      Hi mate, you're very welcome. The amount I used filled one of those bottles, if anything there was ever so slightly more left over in the jug after filling. As time has gone on my additional advice is to play with flavour levels as well. Depending on how heavily concentrated your flavour is will dictate how much is needed. Some may need hardly anything and others need more. Read the bottle instructions for whatever you use and experiment, like any bait or addictive different things work in different places 😀. Genuinely not sure, some say it is some say it isn't, wish i was privy to their ingredients (don't we all). I just know that almost all the homemade goo and glugs I've seen made are with it as its PVA friendly and very effective. As long as it works for us then that's good enough for me!

    • @Mike33
      @Mike33  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Kieran, you're very welcome. Long answer here.. I cant say I have seen a huge difference using N-Butric attraction over say a liver only flavour to be honest. Like anything with flavours and lakes, different things will work at different places so think it will be trial and error at a place you visit. You would need to build up a knowledge of a lake and use over a period of time testing N-Butric against a different flavour of your choice to see which worked best. As an example where I go normally, I fished a liver flavour goo because they react well to Liver and have caught on it. Fluorescein question is hard to answer as without underwater cameras to see how they react it's hard to really have an accurate picture BUT on lakes that see a bit of goo I would personally go with one without the Fluorescein and just inject flavour as I want to be different to everyone else which could give me an edge. Make up one with and one without and have two rods with one on each and see if you notice a difference.

      You could use the goo's here and just remove the corn flour. You could choose not to add the fluorescein also if you didnt want the green aspect in your pellet. It is a PVA friendly liquid so would work quite well if you then put pellets into pva bags or mesh. Hope this helps!

To answer in reverse, ive not tried starch in this mix but personally think its best to just ignore the flour content as it will still have a good consistency to the mix. If you use more of a powdered colour as well for example that will help retain its thickness. Glycerin absorbs water/liquid well so anything to reduce the liquid amounts is best. Ive not used any extracts with an alcoholic element so cant comment but if i had to advise then you coukd well find your flavour out there without it, there are a number of flavourings that mimic others, there seems an unlimited amount out there right now 😁.

    Nice video mike, not a dig but a few notes after seeing the video, flurocine was never in the original product which was launched in the UK and i dont belive it is in the Goo curently on the market and i wouldnt comment on how safe it is either. I know that as it was myself who imported the first batch and launched it through my bait company at the time Vision Baits, we named it Ecto-Plasm, It was distributed by a company called antiche pasture from italy, There was also a night version which needed charging up of a tourch. It was a hormone based jell which reacted with water and light, It was already PVA friendly. Anyone looking for cheap containers like been used have a look at dormex containers/ cambrian containers. Glycerine can be also bought from Direct food ingrediants/ crestchem or some bait companies will also supply it you.

      Thanks for the great detail and thank you for watching and the nice comments. Yes I remember your Ecto-Plasm and it was epic, a different affect than the one im trying to relay here but a great product none the less. Not a clue if they use Fluorescein or not at Kiana as its been a closely guarded secret it seems, and in fairness you can't blame them. At least if it isn't Fluro then we have at least been able to reproduce it. This chemical again seems to have some noise around it over the years, some say safe some say not but reports say that it is a non-toxic dye that produces an intense green fluorescence colour when dissolved in water and the safety sheet on it says non toxic and non hazardous. It has been safely used to detect ophthalmic lesions including ulcers and degeneration of the cornea and seems to be used in a multitude of ways so looks like its safe to use for fishing (especially in the small quantities we are talking here). Would be great to connect on Instagram if you still use it as it would be a pleasure to discuss your Ecto-Plasm product of old!

      Hi Justin, well spotted! Add at the same time as you do normal flavours. Always good to mess with levels of flavour also as some use much higher levels than I do in the video. N-butyric however be careful with as it's very strong and is best used to round off flavours really.

      It was a matter of seconds from memory Justin. Funny enough the reason behind a jump if I recall was my son came into the shot and said something I couldn't include 🤣. Like any PVA though water temp etc plays a part in dissolve time but either way it should be dissolved within seconds really.

      Hi Luke, N-butyric acid is a totally natural organic acid. It is normally found in rancid butter, parmesan cheese and get this...vomit, and is completely water soluble which makes it a great additive to use during the cold water temperatures. It can be mixed with other flavours and If you decide to buy then dont leave it in the house, it is by far the worst smell I've ever come across!

    • @Mike33
      @Mike33  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the question Lee. The final mix should generally be the colour of the colouring that has been put in (if a good concentrated amount of the colouring has been used) BUT it can at times be dulled or changed when mixed with the Fluro because the stain of the Fluroescein is quite strong. In truth you can probably get away without colour if you wanted, and if so then I expect it will just be a dark red type colour from the stain of the fluorescein.

I would be looking to make a batch the night before a session and giving a good shake the next day OR most likely leaving the flour out entirely which is what I plan to do personally.
      Cornflour not being in will make it slightly runnier but by no means will impede the flavour and of course the green glow, both of which are most important for me!

      Thanks for your comment again Richard. The only way to know if these liquids work is to test them on individual waters, different flavours, different amounts of flavours etc. That goes for homemade versions as well as the Kiana goos because any liquid from any company will work better than others. The list of variables are huge in fishing as I'm sure you know. All I know is that I've personally used the ones I've made, I caught on them as soon as yesterday (see this weekends vlog). Would also point out that I still use Kiana/Korda goo as well as a Nash version for the simple reasons mentioned around different lakes reacting differently.
