You can search Chinese Popcorn Cannon on CZcams, that is the normal size popcorn maker on roadside to make popcorn, 10 times popcorns can be made at one batch.
Basically, popcorn is made from kernels with the air and water created steam, allowing them to unfold into popcorn. If you place them in a metal tin like seen here, you don’t allow steam to be created due to there being no space in the small space. When you open the container in a bag, steam is allowed to be created due to an increase in volume so the kernels immediately pop into popcorn allowing for this device to work❤
Ehh, while I have no doubt that you're right, the gauge itself doesn't necessarily indicate that. I mean, is that really the sort of thing you want to be eyeballing?
this process does not actually pop the popcorn instead it puffs it, a certain amount of pressure is ideal to puff a specific grain you need the gauge to know when your there. This process also works very well to puff rice, the results wold be like a breakfast cereal
I looked up this product and it actually let's out air the pressure at a certain temperature or at least thats what it says. They cost about 99 buck for the one she has here but there is a little bit bigger one for 149. I'm interested but I don't know if it will taste like actual movie pop corn and that's what I want lol but it also somehow pops rice?? Which looks cool I wonder what that tastes like.

@@j.calvert3361 it's not so much that it pops I just wasn't expecting that all that could fit in there and not get stuck. Now that I actually watch it tho you can see it all burst out lol the pressure of that much made it fire out. Looks like it might need oxygen and release of pressure valve to actually pop so it all goes at once that's crazy smart invention damn
@@maddielovelee it's not so much the presence or absence of oxygen. What actually makes the corn pop is water turning into steam inside of the kernel, with the hard shell holding in a little bit of pressure until a threshold is reached and the kernel pops. When under pressure in the vessel here, though, the water remains in a liquid state at a much higher temperature; but when the pressure is suddenly released and drops back down to ~1 atmosphere, the superheated water inside of the kernel flash-vaporizes, causing the kernels to violently pop and also slightly caramelizing the starches present. The result is a fluffier popcorn than typical popping as well as a more complex flavor profile. It's actually just reproducing the normal processes that happen inside of the dried kernel but to a much greater extent, and it's quite brilliant (and super cool to watch lol) 👍
Mythbusters did a segment on this. Super cool. They used a huge kettle that was very violent and produced a bathtub of popcorn at a time. The pressure in the vessel keeps the kernels from popping even while heated. As soon as that lid pops so does all the popcorn! Here's a link to the popcorn cannon! czcams.com/video/lhTdAMWiYeo/video.html

What kind of sorcery is this?!?! 😂 I was honestly blown away by that, I’ve never seen it done before. Yes I get the science behind it, but damn that was unexpected.
I wonder how far the popcorn would go if it had been launched into the air at a 45° angle? Also, did anyone notice that the popcorn is darker than regular American air popped popcorn is? I’m thinking that delaying the popping by pressure has the side effect of getting the popcorn hotter so that it self-caramelizes. Imagine breeding an ultra high-sugar popping corn for this purpose and a special pressure cooking electronic, automatic machine to make the most exquisite internally caramelized popcorn.
I’m thinking to myself “I’m going to need her to cook me 5 of those just to grab a proper handful” then when It blew out I was immediately shocked how much came out. I seen the amount of seeds she put in but didn’t expect them all to pop haha.
@@stephenhurd1489 Seems like the air pressure built up from being sealed and heated prevented the corn from popping since it was the same temperature inside and outside each kernel. The instant the seal was released and created a heat and pressure differential all the hot air now had someplace to diffuse to as fast as possible. Maybe not too dissimilar to how one can keep water under pressure to remain a liquid above the boiling temperature in heat exchangers, but will vaporize immediately and rush through any break in the system.

we call it 'bbeung-twigee' on Korea.
Chinese wants it start from their country, but as usual it isn't.

Sí lo dijo, pero en chino, así que no se entendió. 😝
Oh wow! A miniature pressure cooker. That is actually a nice idea. Good find.
in Zimbabwe they make popcorn this way for decades and sell it in wholesales. the only difference is that they use maize corn.
It doesn't just have to be corn, you can pop any grain using this method. You can make your own rice krispies too.
I can i magine this as a 17th century naval weapon.
"Pirates ahead, ready your cornpoppers men"
Imagine going to the ER with missing fingers and they ask you how'd it happen and you say "popcorn"
how will someone lose his fingers using this
@@BaljitSingh-lr9xy oh ok. Makes sense
I love being amazed and left hungry at the same time!
and disappointed all in one swipe the music stopped
I'm adding this to my wish list
It’s amazing to see how popcorn was made in its early years but, at same time I would never go through that much trouble for some popcorn.
Yes and still to this day. I'm seeing a lot of these by the road! Lol

🌽 It's corn! Can't imagine a more beautiful thing! 😉✌🏼
When I turned the screen on, I thought she was making espresso. lol 😂 🤣
As soon as I saw that I realized how bad I needed some popcorn.
I like how much lead and arsenic she got in her popcorn. Very cool! Another reason China is #1 in manufacturing! The CCP is very good at that!
@Kilometers Noblue lol! Pretty sure that steel not lead but okay.
@@christophertibbetts2458 pretty sure china has best quantities not quality.
@@kilometersnoblue4311 My dad was teacher at Bejing University for two years and your comments prove you know zero about China.
“How’d he die?”
“He shot a bag worth of popcorn down his throat at 400 mph.”
this is what I've been looking for.. this comment right here.. I've been saying that the FBI and secret service are about to be involved.. wow I'll never forget the visual comment every CSI I see from now on till I die
ngl that popcorn looks a lot different from normal popcorn... really wanna try some now
That poof of a release at the end would've made me drop the entire thing! I can't even open a can of biscuits!! Cool looking though, like magic😊
This is a mini version, when I was in China for a vacation I saw a very big one. Very loud pop 👍

I would avoid any roadside food in a country that fries food in grease extracted from sewage. Look it up. Its insane!!!!
Pressure cooked! Genius.
OK the big "POOOF" bomb at the end with instant popcorn 🍿 was the most exillerating thing I've ever seen
I added your word on my vocabulary and looked it up on google :)), I saw that it's spelled "exhilarating"❤
English isn't my primary language :))
So Sophisticated✨, the best is it's a common item 💗
It looks like a magic trick!
My gosh! This brings back childhood memories! I remember my brother and I used to wait at the street side for it! But back in the day, they didn’t use the device (about 10~15 times bigger than the one shown in the video) to make popcorns. It was used to pop rice puffs! Freshly popped rice puffs were then put in a huge tray mixing with malt sugar or warm caramel to be cutting into small rice puffs squares, kind of like Rice Krispies but tasted a whole lot more delicious!!! 😊
