      The Blink had negative reviews on Amazon by purchasers because of Picture , videos quality. Not sure if this has been addressed completely. Now of course they also make additional changes which could have been left alone. Like bar signals. What else? The original selling commercial cameras were good. It’s when people started purchasing product that they found picture/video quality was not that good. It has been several months since and I would like to know if they’ve solved issues. Yes I know it’s wireless battery powered. Even if batteries last a year it’s still good. The picture video day night is the question. Thanks

      Blinks latest update also changed the activity zones. Mine just zooms into the center and will not allow me to move it to top or the bottom. What zones I have disabled still set off the camera so they don't seem to deactivate when turned off. I also have clip length to 50secs & it is never consistent it stopped the other day @12sec when there was still activity. And I also have it set to stop if once there is no movement & it keeps recording. The settings are not good at all & i find my cameras to be very inconsistent with what they record. ex. Mailman comes from same direction everyday. Sometimes it records him coming into the frame, other days it starts as he is leaving the porch. Very frustrating.

    • @TommyTester
      @TommyTester  Před 4 lety +3

      You do have to set up the cameras and sync module to recognize your and login to your wifi network. That is normal. If you use the same network name and login for the wifi extender, you don't have to do anything more. The cameras will lock-on to the strongest wifi signal.

    • @TommyTester
      @TommyTester  Před 4 lety +1

      The WIFI signal strength degrades greatly with distance, so clearly you don't want the sync module to be far away from you WIFI router especially if all cameras also need to use the sync module.

  • @cltech9041
    @cltech9041 Před 4 lety

  • @BretChilcott

    Tommy - just for clarity. The WiFi extender only extends the WiFi signal but not the Blink Sync module signal. Is this correct? Also - should the Sync module be within about 30 feet of the WiFi router? Thank you! 73 BretC/AC0AE

    • @TommyTester
      @TommyTester  Před rokem +1

      Yes, the extender is for the camera video only. As for the sync module, I don't know about "30 ft" to the router, just check the signal level in the Ap to attempt to get a strong reading from sync-to-router. Also, the sync module does talk to all cameras (for control) as well as the router, so having it "centered" should give the best results. Good luck. Mine are still working fine.
