I just bought this system for both bathrooms. I did the upstairs and I learned quickly....it will install like butter if you do the prep work (clean floor, well mixed quick set, all walls are plumb). So far so good!! Great video.
Nice work! I build my pans and niche so I can make more money and save the customer money but absolutely use go board. I average $85 an hr after insurance and taxes
Thanks! The shower came out fantastic. I'm 100% satisfied with it. My wife even more 😆.
@@LEX508CZcams hell yeah! Makes your life easier 😂
My redi pan has the cement board sitting on top of the flashing and it’s flush with the top of the pan wall at the top, but the pan sides are sloped inward which will result in the pan floor first course of tile is sloped not plumb. How do I address this?
Did go board selant sticks good to Tile Redi Pan?
Thanks for the video. How many tubes of caulk did you end up using?
I ended up using 7 tubes of Go Board caulking.
Do you have drywall under the GoBoard or attach go board directly to studs?
No just attached right to the studs.
Did you use the Tile Redi flashing system for where the GoBoard meets the pan? Sorry if you mentioned, might've missed it.
I did. Great system easy to work with. 👌
Help me here. GoBoard core is waterproof but not the exterior. So when bonding pan to GoBoard how are we ensuring a water tight seal at the change of plane? Not saying you did it wrong just curious
If it were my I’d have liquid waterproof 2’ above the floor
Hey I did a mistake and left a big hold for drain (18x13 inches) so the pan is pretty flexi around the drain hole (center drain). How can I fix it?
well u needed to replace the subfloor and cut it tighter before installing the pan..so not much u can do now. lol
I’m curious if a slow setting PVC glue would be helpful in setting the pan?
I'm not sure if that's a good idea. The last thing you want is issues on the last setup maybe ask the manufacturer.
Do you have the Go Board sitting on the tile redi pan or is there a gap?
There was a lip there. I added the aluminum flange all the way around , and the go board sits on there.
How do tile down to the pan if there is a lip , the thinset allows you to tile past the lip ?
Hello ,question do you need to use a specific wall board or not ?
No, you can use what you want. I used Goboard because it was easy to work with.
@@LEX508CZcams awesome thank you 🙏
How do you grout around the drain?
Just set your height to your tile and fill the area with the grout.
@@LEX508CZcams do you need to put anything on the threads ?
I put a little bit of Teflon tape.
@@LEX508CZcams thanks
Go board is ten dollars more a sheet . So around 100 $ more.
Dude I had 14 mini heart attacks setting my pan for real
LOL! I feel your pain. You definitely have to be ready there's no turning back.
Just installed one first time ever... Took about 2 hours done... Perfect
Yeah it's a great system! 👍
Can we get an update to how the shower looks now?
Sure! This was a winter project for me unfortunately because of waiting time for tiles I haven't finished the job yet. It's at my own home no big deal but I'll be back at it probably in the middle of October.
@@LEX508CZcamsany updates ? Also, what are the dimensions of the inside of the pan once tile is installed?
@OGCJ10 The interior dimension of the pan is 1" smaller than the stated overall pan dimensions because the pan is measured from exterior to exterior and the pan sides are .5" thick. Assuming the thickness of tile plus thinset to be a bit less than .5" (depends on your tile thickness). So the dimensions would be the stated pan dimension minus 2"
People make these videos but when it comes to answering a few or even one question you’re usually sol.
What's your question?
You forgot the seam goboard polyester tape material.....
That wasn't available when I did this. Yes, I would recommend using it for extra protection.
What was the price and was it custom 🤔
The pan was $687 and not custom side 60x36.
@LEX508 my 39" x 39" quote with a corner missing came to 1,200$. A little steep 10$ worth of material. Does the trench drain add a lot more than a regular one. 🤔
I'm not sure, to be honest. But I'm very satisfied with mine it's great!
It does . I just got a similar quote
Fiber tape and RED GUARD [ superior products ]
Don't even try it, This C.O. is horrible to work with, they will not stand behind their product, and they try toblem you when the pan arrives Broken.. nice concept by a horrible Company
Everyone has different experiences. Mine was great, no problems, no issues, I love the concept, and it works great!
I decided to give a shot to " this New to me" product, but the initial experience is the One it will stick... unfortunately... And it make sense their review is only 3.6
Yes, broken..
