Hope our monsoon ends by the mid of july in kerala, so its better to prune by july when the severe rain ends, yes give flowering booster from 21 to 25 days of pruning, when the new leaf buds are at 2 inch length itself.

Yes mam hard pruning in rainy season is the right thing, but doing it by the end of the season is the correct method. have mentioned in that too, sorry if any misunderstanding happened.. No issues mam, you will get good growth but less flowers, 2 months later give another prune , your plant will get bushy..
