Wow! I really did ENJOY the journey. Who hasn't forgotten to ink the edges of their torn papers? What a great idea it is to use a paint brush with the distress ink! Also, love, love, love the green and pink combo with black. It really pops.
How romantic that your hubby recorded that song for you. Just wonderful!!!

Hello from India! This is very creative, I thoroughly enjoyed watching you create this piece of art. I went on to try it, of course, I didn't have distress ink so tried doing the effect with my brush. I used my rose stencil, to create two roses, one stroke leaves, small flowers and I cut a part of flowers from my vase put on a bow and WOW it looked beautiful.
Thank you so much for sharing this video.

I'm with you! I simply cannot come at it when there are yesterday's newspapers and last years telephone directory on the way to be recycled anyway. Sometimes in our rush to make art, we forget that the materials we use may also be art and worthy of respect. Once torn up, painted, or otherwise altered, its gone forever! Treat the art of others with the same respect that you would want for your own! Please use copies not originals, and help preserve the world's culture and heritage!

I agree that although art is made with the tearing of the book, I hold books to be very precious and would not EVERRRR tear pages out of a perfectly good book to create art. Especially not even from a vintage one since those are such beautiful pieces to find. I collect and sell books and this just breaks my heart to see that done. I too am a writer. There are plenty of magazines or newspapers that are just someone's recycle that you can do that to.

I am sure the artist here, like I do,chooses books that would otherwise end up in the rubbish anyway...ones with pages missing, coffee spills or so on............. very few artists would deliberately destroy a good book..
not every book is a literary masterpiece, many are nothing more than paper and ink
......I adore books but would rather upcycle books this way than have them go in the bin...
even most books donated end up in the trash....if they are not good sellers they eventually toss them

LakeAvenueDesign unless its 1st ed/print Moby Dick, ignore him and carry on. I Love ALL Books but totally disagree! I say its better to use things up than to fill our lands with cast offs. We have a Humongous rise of authors, publishers, and mass prints like never before. that would make a good read/book. The BIG Boom in print-past, present and next 50 yrs or better yet title it "The last tree standing!" lol. It is killing our forest u know....hell...may have to build our houses from books.
