Chicago Stadium "Remember The Roar" 1993-1994 Video Documentary pays tribute to Chicago Stadium, and the events and personalities which made it famous for 65 years.
Great insight from some of those who knew it best...Stadium & Blackhawks owner Bill Wirtz, Don Murphy, Irv Kupcinet, former Blackhawks game announcer Lloyd Petit, former Blackhawks GM Tommy Ivan, and Barton organ keyboardist Frank Pellico to name a few.
Rare archival footage is excellent, highlighting athletes and entertainers such as professional boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Archie Moore, Floyd Patterson, and Sugar Ray Robinson.
Other events and entertainers include political conventions from the 1930's to the 1960's, including those of Herbert Hoover, Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy, and Richard Nixon. Figure skating star Sonja Henie, Cole Bros. Circus, Rodeo, Harlem Globetrotters, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, and many more. Some of the best coverage is given to the Chicago Blackhawks, from their infancy in the late 1920's to the glory days of Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Glenn Hall, and later Tony Esposito, Denis Savard, and Jeremy Roenick. It's all in this 50+ minute documentary.

I went to two games that season. The first time I bought a seat three rows from the glass. In retrospect I wish I sat in one of the balconies but it was a fabulous experience.I miss the Madhouse on Madison!

I went to one game in the final season to watch them play Gretzky and the Kings when I went away to college in Chicago. I stood in the standing room only section. Oh my goodness, it was incredible! You literally felt like you were looking down on top of the ice from directly above and pretty close to the action too compared to the upper seats of the cavernous Forum where I grew up watching the Kings play. I have recurrent dreams about being back up there in SRO.
