  • Saugeye fishing at Alum Creek Lake and trolling with Berkley Flicker Shads. I actually caught saugeye, crappie, white bass and hooked into a big musky! It was a lot of fun and near the end I offer some tips for success!

    Great day fishing brother! I’d say you need a bigger net. Lol hey crap happens that’s for sure. Either way it was a great day and thanks for the tips. We got sauger here in Tenn in our rivers and I’m trying to get them figured out myself

    Nice video. I fish Alum Creek regularly and have just recently started to target saugeye. I've only caught a few and I'm still trying to figure them out. I'll definitely keep your tips in mind when I'm out there on my next trip. I'm picking up a new boat this weekend and will be back on the water early next week.

    I really enjoyed your video and sorry you lost the really big saugeye. I am wanting to get into saugeye fishing at Piedmont Lake OH. If you have any other good tips, especially for Piedmont, i would love to hear them. Thanks!

      Thanks! The rip rap along the dam and the rocks along the north shore is where I would start! I haven't targetted saugeye in that lake, but I did fish it for musky the first time ever this year! Beautiful lake for sure!!

    Beautiful crappies, man!
    I couldn't identify that first one you called a "dink" on my little screen. Kinda looked like a trout. What was it?

    good stuff....potentially stupid question: do you use an electric motor to troll or the gas? My boat's a little heavy and not sure if an electric has enough juice to power for long enough, but will gas scare them away?

    • @Dark30Outdoors
      @Dark30Outdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      Generally, I have better luck with the electric trolling motor especially when they're shallow, but I've caught them with the gas motor as well.

    You forgot the most important tip of them all. Bring a real net with you and don't stretch out so far to net the fish, bring the fish to you.
