(The Books for MKs Charity organization had to close in 2020. There are still some older videos asking for donations to the charity, but the charity has closed and is no longer accepting donations. Thank you.)

I love that Emily Dickinson poem as well. For me it shows that even small kindnesses are worth doing and can change the world or people's lives.
I remember reading The Eve of St. Agnes in class. The language is definitely beautiful, though the main guy creeped me out quite a bit! haha
Recently I've been loving Rainer Maria Rilke! I read Poems from the Book of Hours and the translation I read was by Babette Deutsch. So beautiful and with so many layers of meaning

I still have my paperback book of Spenser's Poetical Works that I read in college for a course about Spenser. It includes all six books of the Fairie Queene, but the poem is in very small print. I vacationed with my family in Michigan's Upper Peninsula many years ago, where Longfellow's The Song of Hiawatha takes place. I have two old editions of Longfellow -- one is Hiawatha and the other is of his complete poems. Both of them are very enjoyable reading.

    I love poetry, I think.
AE Housman moves my spirit - all that’s said in between the words, in the words. I was a soldier and I forgot some old feelings, but I find them in his work.
I didn’t reenlist for a reason, but I would do it over again.

Admirable selection. I would add a few poets to the list like Chaucer and Wordsworth..

Do you like Poe ? What do you think about 'The Conqueror Worm' and ' The City Beneath the Sea' , they have such an eerie quality! What instrument do you play? Then you must like Browning's 'A Toccata of Galuppi's' . One of my favorites is Lord Byron's The 'Defeat of Senacherib' , a poem about God's intervention in behalf of Israel. One last mention (although is German literature) is Heine's unforgettable poem set on music by Schumann 'The Two Grenadiers' ( 'what disgrace , captive, captive the Emperor!'). Do you know them?
