Destiny 2: PROPHECY Dungeon - FULL Step-by-Step Guide and Walkthrough
I started making guides because I felt other guides weren't as effective for me or did not fit my learning style. So I began to make extremely detailed (as detailed as I could make it) step-by-step guides as a way to fill the gaps that many players (LFG and friends) feel are missing. I hope you take something away from this, no matter how small, and consider following along and subscribing as I make more helpful content.
This is a FULL STEP-BY-STEP WALKTHROUGH for the PROPHECY Dungeon originally released back in Season Of Arrivals.
Updated in 2023 with precise, granular step-by-step strategies to complete this dungeon. NO experience needed. Whether you are a beginner or veteran, this is a different type of guide that offers exact step-by-step instructions supported with exact footage to ensure you get through each encounter as painless as possible, leave with a deeper understanding of the mechanics, and help you avoid becoming confused.
I've put in as much info, resources, loadout resources, and team make-up as possible. There are of course, different/better strategies, and even information I may have decided to leave out.
At the end of the day, I promise that beginners, absolute newcomers, and veterans can beat this dungeon.

I hate it when a walkthrough video tells you half of what you need to do like that is the entire mechanic and then go "but wait! That didn't do anything! here's why!" and then explains the second part.
I've solo flawlessed this dungeon, but I never knew what to do when tolland was at the top of the cube room. I never noticed the changing faces, so I would pick a random side and hope for the best. Now, I feel confident enough to teach this dungeon with all the others. Fantastic guide as always.
i’ve solo flawlessed this dungeon as well and never knew about the changing face. i was told that u can cleanse whatever side u like if toland is on the ceiling 😂 glad i learned the correct way now tho

This might be the best dungeon guide I’ve ever seen-quick with lots of great info. I’ve played prophecy multiple times, but this guide helped me understand it better. Well done!
New and returning players, note that there is no prompt to tell you that you’re in the right place to cleanse a geyser or which control to use. On Xbox, it’s the right trigger by default, so it’s probably the fire control across platforms. Just get close to the geyser, use your fire control, and that should do the trick.

For the cube room, i had no idea we supposed to put lights on the cube. On my runs, i just cleanse on wherever the light is and if its on the ceiling, ill guess where to cleanse hahah. Thanks for your guide much appreciated!

Not sure if oversimplified or if others overcomplicate. I remember watching a different video where they said you had to do something special in that room with the 3 things you cleanse and spawn an ogre but you make it sound so simple. If its turns out you're right then you've earned yourself a subscriber cause other tutorials makes things sound so much harder than they really are.
Nothing special needed, just pick up 5 motes of the color required and "dunk/cleanse" as usual! You can straight up ignore the ogre too lol no need to kill it. It's just there to be a nuisance
I never noticed that the cubes would light up, and because of that I always thought that we just had to waste a round when Toland appeared above the cube. Thanks a ton for this

I like how ever video about this dungeon offers no advice to that first encounter and how hard it is. "Just get the motes smile"
I hate that first encounter, Osteo striga helps me a lot to clear all the enemies, others use Riskrunner and on another video I saw that if you clear 2 light motes and 2 light dark motes he was jumping from the highest one to be in between and he was clearing or purifying 2 at the same time.
I honestly think the boss fight is leagues easier than the phalanx echo, that guy consistently bodies me lmao. I couldn't imagine trying to run this at the actual recommended power level of 1600.

Me and my new light friend were going to be taught this dungeon by one of my other friends, but he ended up having to leave at Phalanx
We duoed the whole dungeon blind
3 phases into Kell Echo, we wiped with him at about 10% health left
We pulled in a 3rd and easily 3-phased

My dumb ass decided to run this dungeon on my first day playing the game, honestly surprised my friend and I even made it to the second boss
i want to raid but i'm short 5 more not 1
i gave up the spawns for dark or light motes seems random and the last dps phase i had all 3 dark motes annd EVERY single time it dropped nothing but light motes

How do you clear the Final Bosses blurry ball bullshit??! Only way to kill him is never get hit by it?? Or is there a way to clear it? Ik it sends u back to start of dp area but seems there's a timer too that it kills u...not sure if there's a way to get rid of it.

I tried this dungeon when it came out and just... nah I was too new to the game. Tried again in the season of the pirate and just did bad. I'm gonna solo it but... I could do with getting a Xenophage, How does one get one, solo?
Solo is possible. It's part of a quest that involves sending you into the Pit of Heresy dungeon on the Moon. But instead of completing the dungeon...you follow an alternate path within the dungeon and end up fighting an optional wizard boss. I do recommend at least one other person just so it's not as frustrating!
How to cleanse? Do I need max mote? I already going near the cube but cannot cleanse
You need 5 motes of the specific color you're trying to cleanse. Once you collect 5 motes, your game view will zoom out to third person and show you carrying the motes around (same view like when you're using a sword)

Once you collect 5 of either type of mote, it will send you to 3rd person mode/view
Can’t do much damage to the final box so just keep going against him over and over!

The light and dark motes are bugged so no its not easy mechanic
What is the benefit of doing these dungeons?
Armor with potentially high stats and rare weapons. Some dungeons have artifice armor drops, means the legendary armor has an extra mod slot for stat increasing mods that don‘t cost armor energy to equip. They also offer cosmetics for their solo or solo flawless completion.

Massiv skill issue
Couldn’t even get past the first part cause they wouldn’t stop giving me dark motes only 1 of the 4 taken kings drop them every time they respawned sat there for about a hour before breaking my controller and deleting this trash ass game

If your half dozen brain cells are still confused, you get LIGHT notes standing in the LIGHT and DARK motes standing in the DARK

Currently, same weapons. But I would keep an eye on the next few expansions. They're planning on revamping/reworking loot for dungeons and raids.
