I watch a lot of thesis animations, and I gotta say, this one impressed me in an incredibly unique way! It was about twice the length of every single other thesis I've encountered, and sure, the animation had to be much simpler as a result... but that's where you showed a talent most animators NEVER have:
You know _exactly_ when and where to cut corners. Most animated thesis's try to make every movement fluid, very character animate, and every action vibrant. Their films end up looking really pretty, even when they don't _have_ to be, and in doing so they never have time to tell a real story, flesh out real characters, or establish a setting.
Here, though? You managed to pack an entire Saturday-morning cartoon in, with only minimal dips in quality. Jamin and Rashes are given the time to truly express themselves in a world that feels _real,_ throughout a story that has MULTIPLE PLOT POINTS. All because you know when the animation needs to sparkle, and when it simply needs to serve its purpose.
That brings me to the second thing you do extremely well, you also know exactly when to bring out the sparkle. When the heavyweight champ gets punched through the ceiling, it's a moment triumph. And so to sell the glory Jamin throws an ever-so-fluid punch that carries the big lug up, up and away, taking us along for the ride. The animation and perspective for the following handful of seconds where we see the world beyond this tavern is notably vibrant, and excellently portrayed.
You knew the exact moment where the audience's attention would be at its sharpest, and adjusted the animation quality accordingly. That's something that not even professional animated shows always get right, and it deserves recognition.
Bravo!
Headcanon: With the shape of Jamin's arms and Rashes' head, these must be Popeye's kids.
