- Experience the Upper Class service flying to Orlando with Virgin Atlantic. This review was of flight VS91 on 24 March 2022 from London Heathrow to Orlando International Airport on an Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.
Virgin flies to Orlando from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh for holidays to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and the other theme parks of the central Florida region.

Probably the best start-to-finish review I've ever seen. I loved the detail about getting from the hotel, through the tunnels to Terminal 3. I'll be doing a similar thing in the summer so it was super helpful!

Another great review, I’ve just come back from our 3rd trip to Orlando following the boarders opening and travelled in upper both ways on the A330-300. My next trip in June is on the A330-300 on the outbound flight and on the A350-1000 on the return flight - which I am very much looking forwards to trying! We usually fly out of Manchester and I’m hoping the virgin upper class lounge opens soon, was due to open spring 2020. Enjoy your time in Orlando!

Thanks for the ride. I flew VS from Orlando to Manchester and London Gatwick to Orlando in 2019 when the service was still using the 747-400s. Glad I got to fly them before the 744s were retired.
Thanks for the comment. Having flown the old 744s in the nose, I have to say the A350 suite is far nicer. Shame there is no bar though!
Great video! It’s great that Virgin and BA are flying A350’s to Orlando - I didn’t think either would. How did you find the cabin - it didn’t look as opulent as the would have thought? The food looked a great and good to see that Mickey enjoyed the trip 😊
The A350 cabin is good. The seat has more space around it to store things. And it is more private than the suites on older aircraft.

I don’t know why I watched as I would never fly with Virgin and definitely not go to Disney, however I enjoyed this flight review, it was well put together!

Orlando resident here. These flights are so in demand there 4 or 5 a day.
Hotel transfer information at Heathrow useful….. background music, particularly on travellator good fun…….having been a gold card member of Air France, always hopeful for an upgrade. Guess one bit missing is the cost - unclear if upper class is priced against business for which just the virgin lounge would be good or is it more expensive. Much prefer seating on A350 with window views compared to Dreamliner (?). Ps I enjoy Mickey’s “involvement” …. Sense of fun and recognising any travel is for enjoyment; not just critical review

do you know on the 330-300 in premium economy what number seat is by the engine and the wing 14th row across and same with the 350-1000 its now doing vs76

Thanks for another great review and props for the UpOp, I found BA were always more likely to upgrade than VS. Must say the lack of mood lighting being on during boarding makes the Upper Cabin not so special.

Have they now stopped doing the A350 to MCO or is it just select flights?
One daily flight appears to be on an A350. The second is either an A350 or an A330 depending on the day.
Good, useful video. Only thing I wasn't keen on was the voice over, sounded very distant, almost like you were speaking into a microphone from across the room. Apart from that it was great.

How did you get upgraded? Did you have to do anything? How were you notified?
Who knows why the upgrade happened. Assume for an operational reason. I’ve got status with the airline which probably put me at the front food the queue. I got told about the upgrade in the Clubhouse.
Great video, super informative. How was your experience regarding Covid documents? Is it a slow slog with lots of codes to be scanned or a quick check you have the right stuff and off you go? Flying next week after a few years and curious to know how it's changed!

I used the online scheme to upload/validate my documents. So then just showed the confirmation email at check-in. All pretty straightforward.
On another flight I just printed everything out and showed it at check-in. A slightly slower process but no real hassle.
@@DoorsToAuto Oh cool, thanks for that. Do they scan everything or just check it? I had some trouble with my QR code at a venue a while ago.
If it’s a check-in, there’s a separate desk to check papers before you then go to a check-in desk. They just look at the test result and vaccines certificate - no scanning

Upper and Premium were fairly full. Economy not so much. Watching the seat map a few days before the flight, it looks like there were a number of upgrades from Economy, as the front wasn’t so full but the back was.
I went to Orlando with virgin Atlantic like 6 weeks ago and we were on an a330
Looking at their summer schedule they are planning to fly an A350 and an A330 each day. Although that may change if demand for travel continues to climb.

Did you get the upgrade as you were Gold, or did you bid for it?
I didn’t bid for it, so presume because of status.
what do you think the reasons were for your free upgrade on this flight?
I suspect they sold a pair of upgrades from Economy to Premium. As a lone traveller I was an easy person to move to accommodate them sat together. Gold status probably helped!
@@DoorsToAuto I think you’ve always got more chance of an upgrade as a solo traveller. The first time I booked direct with Virgin Atlantic they upgraded me at the gate from premium to Upper Class from LGW to Vegas. There were only 14 seats on the B747 as you know so I think I was pretty lucky there. After that I used the miles I accumulated to upgrade to Upper and just paid the additional taxes. Been doing that for about 10 years now. No way I’d fly economy again on long haul

Acceleration looked slow....747 far stronger
I assume that’s what you get with only two engines compared to four?
also, the 747 is the most fasters commercial aircraft today, at least the 400.
