I know Scarlett and violet came out after temtem But it has one of most Pokémon Stories to date I mean, let’s see Arvin losing a parent and a parent out on him as a baby as well with dealing with major child neglect, penny dealing with school bullying and yet somehow temtem is the more mature one?

I haven't put together my detailed thoughts on why Temtem was disappointing to me, meanwhile games like Coromon, Cassette Beasts, Monster Sanctuary, and Monster Hunter Stories are great!
What you said about Temtem designs being too safe makes sense to me. I also realllly dislike the grindiness of Temtem compared too all four games I mentioned previously. (Especially being of how slow the load times can be for each random encounter, due to being an always-online game.)
P.S. You can turn the EXP share off in Pokemon X & Y, so it's a non-issue. A lot of people who complain about it forget that.

My problem with temtem was it was trying to hard to be pokemon while also claiming to be different. The monster designs are ok enough, and wanting to compete with pokemon is ok. But it felt like they took the "pokemon is too easy" complaint and dialed the difficulty to 11, on some things it wasn't even necessary to make it harder. Ok tougher battles makes sense but I swear you need to breed competitive temtems to beat the main story, money was so hard to come by that selling my clothes was the only way I had cash on hand, and the breeding is so much more painful than it ever was for pokemon. Then it comes off as off brand pokemon because it is literally pokemon, as you described at the beginning of the video.

yeah because its becoming increasingly obvious that the devs are just dumb, its just left me with no other choice but to believe they genuinely think when people say pokemon games are easy that means we want to grind EVs and IVs for a whole new team every damn chapter.

For me, Temtem is to Pokemon what the Wolverine and the X-Men (2009) is to X-Men: Evolution (2000). I look at the former for long enough and think "I mean, it's okay, but I prefer how the latter does just about everything." And then I turn it off and start watching X-Men: Evolution. Even when the former in question is Temtem.
