The best way to attack two shooter village is to micro your troopers to hit each one of them individually. Thus both will have damage penalty because of melee, and they won't be able to shoot. Microing battles in the early game really makes a difference, like kiting to stall while your other guys are doing their job or otherwise reduce focus fire from the defenders.
peaceful annexation is definitely not a weak ability. it's just not useful early game on regions you can attack. But mid to late game it's amazing.
I've had 4 of them going at the same time yday while playing a map with NO spice. It was great! One of the strongest suits of Atreides, especially with Idaho.
I'm struggling for some reason with the late - end game . I'm not sure what to push for . As Atreides I havent gone military and Im really behind the smugglers in this one game i have going so far . There are a few things about the game i havent completely ' got ' yet ...thanks for the videos .. just sub'd to get your input on the many facets of this gem of a game
I had no idea as Atreides I could annex a distant village . i thought it was only neighbouring .. i didnt even think to try ... thanks for shedding THAT light !!!😊
I mean you have 3 win conditions as you know. Domination, diplomatic and trough hegemony. So the most common way to win for me was through the diplomatic win beceause domination needs a lot of setup and time if you want to destroy the other factions. Ive never gotten above 20,000~ hegemony so i think it also takes time, even if you take most of the territorry that give you hegemony. I havent finished lots of games but thats my overall impression for now.
You can take any village that is far away with any faction I think. The issues are getting there and having enough authority. The Fremen could worm to a far away village and capture it quite easily since they got the extra authority to pay for the additional distance costs.
Astreides have the best late game military because of all of the buffs. Bring 2 wardens, 1 drone, 1 heavy Gunner or whatever is called to destroy the base shield and then make the rest of the army 1/4 mellee Basic troop, 3/4 ranged Basic troop. Astreides army focus on bônus between them, and with good micro you can 2 shot alot of enemies with your Basic troops. Now how to take the Enemy town. 1st prepare the sou missions of revolt on a Enemy settlement, reduce defenses on the Enemy base and supply. 2nd make a non agressivo pact with them (unlock it from the blue research tree) so you can walk on their território without wasting supply. 3rd go to the settlement you want next to the Enemy base. Once there spam the Revolt mission. Once the settlement is neutral take it and wait for the non agressivo pact time to end (Honestly if it is the last Enemy dont waste time on revolts and break the pact as soon as you apporach the settlement)
4th build up the settlement to be defensive, with a shipport and with barrack to buff your military.
5th attack the Enemy base. Use the mission that lowers its defensive power and spam supply mission (once you use Start preparing another ASAP). That mission Will geral your bully troops
I was able to secure the win via politics . I held out the 30 days or turns or whatever it was to win the seat..... The smugglers almost won as they had 24860 Hedgemony .. very close game ...
I play on console, and I have over 14 hrs played. Ngl I had ZERO idea that you could speed up the gameplay, I always only played on 1x this is a godsend 😆
42:38 you can "buy" landsraadstanding with influence via an operation 300 influence 50 intel for 30 standing
I'm struggling in normal mode, not sure how you do the things you do but you made a belieber out of me
I put all difficulties at max and domination only (no assassination). Took me 15 hours, i destroyed fremen and atreidis but I couldn't win because harkonnen was on the other side of the map and there is a 500 authority cap.
Sounds like you need to use airfields more.
@@oscarlove4394 I had bunch of airfields. All my bases were covered
Anyone who is willing to keep it up by commenting moves on the game is always nice, specially on half slow games like RTS mix with turn base.
Keep the good work, o/
Appreciate if you make a full Playlist once you finish all episodes so I watch it all when I get the time.
Damn, i wish i had half the energy / fun you seem to have. >.> nice vid!
That POI gives you 100 Authority for 500 sol. It's one of the best 17:20
Really is a wonderful early release game. Am optimistic that future additions to the game will increase its replayability
Me too! It’ll be really interesting to see how they introduce new factions
Having been an Eagle Scout, the Atreides were pretty easy to play (Governor of Dune). Would rather play the Harkonnens, channel Marquis de Sade, and have some brutal fun. 😁
I can't wait for mp so real human beings tear apart the cpu tactics.
Nice to watch as I see here many of my own tactics with Atreides with some twists on Intel tech which I completely decided not to invest into. So, I was wondering how things will play out in your match.
Did anyone else realise that atreides can win the game without buying military units
Moar worms means moar spice, right?
Lore wise yes, gameplay no
Plz part two!
Does anyone here tried playing on linux? I've been using some stuff embedded by steam. Then, it can run. But I've noticed differences on interface. Like, the used slots in a village
why not push I to see more info on the map to see which villages are good for water production
do more insane playthrough
9:31 what does "breaking a treatie" mean? i'm not aware of any treaties be breakable. sure you can attack but what are you "breaking" there?
Breaking the treaty will ruin your influence scores on the trade thingy
MORE!
One cuestion... what happened with the video of you playing with the Smugglers without paying taxes? I saw that a pair of times but never got the real video posted... and when I tried to play it was... with some errors
just checked, it's on the channel and working.
@@Samaelish Okey thanks, I will check it later... I was seeking for that video but as I said that never popup is unlisted I suppose
Nice

Shouldn the Atreides be blue and the Ordors be green?
Nope, in the books Atreides house colors are green and black, with a red hawk. Also, house Ordos is not a thing in the books. They (incorrectly) made Atreides blue in the old games because they felt like blue was a "good guys" color.
@@travisbarbieri384 Ah ok i see, i did not know that, thanks for the clarification.
I have never read the books, only played (and worn out several diskettes and mice) on the Amiga back in the 90´s and early 00`s.
Very annoying voice had to turn it off.
