Two Days of Dumpster Diving! I Found Framed Artwork and Home Decor!

- Hi everybody and welcome back to my dumpster diving channel! I am so excited to be diving again after a super fun week off to spend time with our friends from out of state. I normally don't go diving on Wednesdays, but am so glad I did because I found some really cool framed paintings, clothing, and home decor! I love being able to rescue usable items from the landfill - it's so much fun to be able to decorate our home with my finds and to donate what we don't need to others.

I was proud of my husband today.. a friend of his has been living in the same apartment about 7 years and is moving in to a house with another friend so he was telling husband about all this stuff he has that he was just going to throw in the trash including storage totes of his Dad's clothes ( Dad passed away). My husband said "Steve why don't you donate it to Volunteers of America, they help Veterans" which Steve is. He said "Ya know I never thought of that" so he is donating instead of throwing away good stuff. Thanks Kelly husband wouldn't have thought of it if he wasn't listening to your videos in the back ground. Anna In Ohio

The painting is lovely - even if it is an interpretation of the original Funeral Procession. Another great haul saved from the landfill. 👏👏👏

You should carry extra plastic, reusable bins in your truck plus extra gloves and an extra grabber and a fold-up step stool.
She has a folding stool in the back of her truck, I saw it in the video.

I noticed that you didn't take time to consider the blue glass cleaner spray that looked almost full from the first dumpster and I wondered if it was something that you just didn't see or if you don't collect cleaners like those? I have recently started diving and I made my first substantial sale this morning! I found a brand new XL airline approved dog kennel that had a tiny bit of cosmetic damage from shipping that I sold for $100!!! I'm over the moon and thoroughly enjoying all of the donations I have been able to make as well as saving $100's of dollars on personal home necessities! I've gotten lots of kitty litter, a brand new I Robot mopping/sweeping device, bottles of glucosamine supplements for my German Shepherd, a super nice foot spa that was a store display, tons of squishy key chains (70+ @ $3 each!) art supplies, brand new construction materials that I needed, and $100's worth of children's otc medications and supplements that I donated to our local domestic violence shelter! The joy I'm getting being able to save these products from needlessly filling the landfills is better than anything I've experienced since before the pandemic was even a possibility! I highly encourage anyone who has been considering giving dumpster diving a try to do it!!!! I had to get over my fear and embarrassment but that was extremely short lived once I gave it a try!
Thank you Kelli for being a fabulous example and helping me discover my new favorite hobby! I live in Anchorage, Alaska BTW.......it is gorgeous here and it hurts my heart seeing so much needless waste in our beautiful state! 💙🌸💙
Wow that's awesome!! I once found a very dirty but nice coach bag. I cleaned it up and put it on Mercari and got 135 for it. I couldn't believe it;) One mans trash is really another mans treasure.
I always think when watching diver videos,that you should keep some tubs in your truck and bring then to the bin and drop the stuff in them .

I love the two framed paintings that you found! So, the "Funeral Procession" may not be original, but it is fantastic and looks great in your house! I would have put it right on my wall, too.
I read the original is at Tulane University. The picture was made popular on the Cosby show.

Pull up as close to the side of those big dumpsters as you can and use the back of your truck so you can reach the stuff see and reach the stuff better. I don't want you to fall and hurt yourself.
It would be a cool video if you went around your house and showed the things you kept & used from dumpster diving ! Love your videos. Though I’m not a diver, it’s very entertaining to watch and interesting to see what people throw away ! Keep up the good work 👍🏼👍🏼🤗

The clock is as it should be to look aged or antique. I have the same clock.
Sometimes those clocks can be taken apart. You can replace the face with one you have made or a photograph you have enlarged, like one of Pilgrim. I loved how you said, “Oh, a toilet,” like it is an everyday occurrence! I love your videos. Please be careful!

I bet the lights on the dock lite up when he was connected to the wires-battery style. It is a lovely painting. All 3 are lovely.

I'm guessing that Chickfilat provides uniforms. You might try returning them to a restaurant so they can issue them again. I love the way the clock looks. It makes it look like it's pretty old, in a good way. I guess you could say it's "patina". I want to thank you for using addverbs, as in, "it's framed really nicely." So often now, people are using adjectives in place of adverbs, as in, "it's framed really nice." I scream inside every time I hear it. We don't drive careful/safe, we drive carefully/safely. Thanks again!! The lampshade is beautiful. It wouldn't fit my decor, but I appreciate its beauty.

The clock is "tea stained" like that to make it look like an antique. I'm pretty sure that's the way it's supposed to look.

The desk thing is actually a projector/laptop stand for presentations! I had one for my students when they competed!
